The 2024 edition of the bestiam fair is scheduled for Saturday, October 12, in the setting of the Broi garden, a bright green area bordered by black locust trees, lime trees and well-kept hedges nestled in the historic heart of the town. From the perspective of Agordo’s urban center, it is easy to remain fascinated by the grandeur of the Tamer-S. Sebastiano group, whose snow-covered peaks form the backdrop to the white Church of the Archpriesthood of “Santa Maria Nascente” and to the imposing mass of Monte Agner, rising steeply behind the town hall.
On the occasion of the event, the tree-lined park hosts the market fair of local farmers and breeders with organic and zero-km products.

The Carestiato refuge, Casera Camp
The starting point of the itinerary is the Cesare Tomè refuge, reachable from the center of Agordo via provincial road 347 in about 20 minutes by car.
Once you reach the refuge, take trail CAI 549 until you intersect the forest road that challenges the steep southern slopes of the Moiazza, leading to the Rifugio Bruto Carestiato, from whose privileged position, at 1834 m a.s.l., the view sweeps over the Conca Agordina and the climbing walls that every year attract thousands of climbers and mountaineers.

The route from the pass to the refuge extends for 2.8 km and has about 275 meters of elevation gain.
The next destination is Forcella Camp, reachable via trail 554. The effort of the hike is rewarded by breathtaking views of the Moiazza and the conifer forests that cloak its steep slopes.
After visiting Casera Camp (1861 meters a.s.l.), an alpine shelter harmoniously set in a vast meadow area at the Forcella Camp pass, you return to the Carestiato refuge. At this point, head south toward the enchanting conifer forest that surrounds Casera dei Pass, a lovely stone-and-wood shelter where you will find a table with benches and a fireplace.
