The Castello di Peraga
Located at Via Arrigoni, 1, the sumptuous medieval fortification is one of the most fascinating historical monuments of the municipality.
Enveloped by a lush garden dotted with cedars, firs, magnolias, willows and cypress poplars, the ancient manor house dating back to the 13th century rises on four levels: the basement, the ground floor, the piano nobile and the attic.
Towering on a grassy motte surrounded by an age-old moat, the 13th-century fortress underwent a series of restoration and renovation interventions from the second half of the 19th century to the 1930s, which softened its features of severity and grandeur, without however compromising its splendor and majesty.
In the lush tree-lined garden of the stately residence, an interesting itinerary has been set up in which various works of modern art made of wood and stone harmoniously integrate with the flourishing environment in which they are placed.
If you are wondering what to do in Vigonza, the Castello di Peraga is a significant architectural and cultural landmark that certainly deserves a visit!
The cloister of Santa Margherita
Set in the heart of the town next to the bell tower of the parish church, the two arms of the cloister of the convent of Santa Margherita are distinguished by an elegant portico marked by wide round arches. On the south-west facade there are a three-light window and two trefoil single-light windows. Carefully restored, the cloister and the chapter house host exhibition areas and meeting rooms.
