The ancient fair of San Luigi
According to the liturgical calendar, June 21 is the day dedicated to Luigi Gonzaga, a 16th-century Jesuit who died at the premature age of 23 after contracting a serious illness while caring for the sick in need. However, the centuries-old celebration in honor of the saint does not always coincide with this date. In 2022, the festival took place from July 8 to 12 in Viale dei Martiri.
Recommended appointment for food lovers, the event features large dining areas where you can enjoy tasty dishes that highlight local products, from delicious sandwiches filled with cold cuts and sizzling mixed grills, whose aroma spreads among the well-aligned benches and wooden tables in spacious tension structures crowded with hungry diners,
to the exquisite baccalà alla vicentina, one of the oldest and most representative recipes of the province as well as a bridge between the creativity and richness of Vicenza’s cuisine and the refined fish specialties of the Lofoten Islands, the magnificent rocky Norwegian archipelago from which the prized stockfish comes, a northern cod (particularly valuable is the skrei quality from the island of Røst) preserved through a drying process.
To quench your thirst, rivers of beer will not be missing, ideal for fighting the summer heat, as well as top-quality native wine specialties.
To further enliven the evenings of the fair, there will be fun and swirling rides bright with electric lights, dance floors, and performances by impeccable bands and DJs with thrilling rhythms.

Villa Barbarigo
Located on Via C. Porta, the sumptuous sixteenth-century residence rises on four levels: the basement, the main floor, the second floor, and the mezzanine.
Distinguished on the main floor by an elegant portico punctuated by pairs of Tuscan columns, the south facade features in a median position a majestic avant-corps from which protrudes, centrally, a double loggia rhythmically articulated by Tuscan columns on the first floor, Ionic on the second, and crowned by a triangular pediment.
Accessible via two elegant staircases leading to the pronaos, the Renaissance residence bears on the roof four imposing chimneys with pyramidal cusp.
If you are wondering what to do in Noventa Vicentina, Villa Barbarigo and the formidable pictorial decorations that embellish its interiors represent one of the most significant cultural and artistic reference points of the municipality.
The cathedral of saints Vito, Modesto and Crescenzia
Located at Via Giacomo Matteotti, 10, the place of worship is characterized by a solemn double-sloped facade horizontally divided into two registers separated by an elaborate stringcourse.
In the lower register, four Corinthian pilasters flank the wooden portal surmounted by a lunette depicting saints Vito, Modesto and Crescenzia who, condemned to be devoured by lions for not renouncing their faith, are saved by the miraculous appearance of a luminous cross that tames the beasts.
Tripartite by four Corinthian pilasters, the upper register bears in the center the white rose window above which stands the triangular pediment adorned with a dentil pattern.
The church preserves an invaluable treasure of sculptural and pictorial works, among which a splendid altarpiece by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo depicting Saint Roch and Saint Sebastian stands out.
