Il Castelliere di Sernaglia della Battaglia

The ecological trail of the Fontane Bianche

With an area of over one hundred hectares, the Fontane Bianche are fed by groundwater from a large catchment basin that extends from the Treviso Prealps to the Palù del Quartier del Piave.
Located at the confluence of the Rabòs and Rospér streams into the Piave, the natural site owes its name to the crystalline clarity of the spring waters, whose purity, constant flow, and stable temperature around 10-13 °C favor the development of an important reservoir of biodiversity.
Museo della Grande Guerra di Fontigo
Located at Piazza del Popolo, 21 in Fontigo, a hamlet of the municipality of Sernaglia della Battaglia, the Museo della Grande Guerra traces the tragic events of the First World War through a detailed multimedia exhibition that includes artifacts found in the Sernaglia area along the banks of the Piave.
The cataloged finds include everyday utensils as well as weapons and ammunition, indelible traces that bear witness to the dramatic conditions to which Italian soldiers were subjected during the exhausting phases of trench warfare, (of which a reconstruction can be admired) culminating in the heroic Final Battle, to which the museum tour dedicates an in-depth description.
