We leave the place of worship on our left and continue north for 400 meters on an asphalt road until we find, on our right, the signs to reach Casera Ere and the Brentaz waterfall. A walk in San Gregorio nelle Alpi
The starting point of the route is the car park in Piazza del Municipio, near the church of San Gregorio Papa and the cemetery of San Gregorio nelle Alpi. From this panoramic spot, looking south you can enjoy a wide-open view of the splendid landscape of Valbelluna and the Prealpine peaks that shape the horizon.
We head north toward the Leon de Oro tavern. At the stop sign, turn right and follow Via Caduti del Lavoro and Via Donada for about 350 meters, then turn right and continue downhill toward località Barp, alongside the ancient church of Sant’Antonio Abbate. Harmoniously set in a sunny, tree-lined garden, the white place of worship facing the road stands out for its austere, unadorned gable facade, to which a charming brick bell tower is incorporated. We continue along the winding road among centuries-old farmhouses and exposed-stone walls shaded by lush hedges.
At the intersection, turn right and continue for 1 km through the hamlet of Barp, a welcoming village dotted with centuries-old rustic buildings and modern farmhouses.
The route unfolds in the shade of willows, birches, field maples, elms, poplars, black locusts and hornbeams that cloak the green slope. At the junction with località Fumach, turn right and head west for 750 meters among flower-filled meadows and neatly kept hedges. After passing an elegant stone fountain, on our right we find the staircase of eight steps that leads to the small church of San Bartolomeo, whose bell tower is incorporated into the double-pitched facade.
We leave the church entrance behind us and continue for 500 meters on Località Fumach, then keep right and continue along Località Fumach, Località Rive di Ignan and Via Casabellata among ancient stone haylofts, lush vineyards and tranquil woods. The route passes through the settlement of Paluch and unfolds among vast grassy stretches that gently slope southward, where the outline of the Prealps appears on the horizon.
At the intersection, turn right into Via degli Alpini and cross the bridge over the Veses stream. At the next junction, turn right and continue for 350 meters along provincial road 13. At this point, take Via Mas on our right. After 160 meters, turn left and take the Via dell’acqua Veses – Santa Giustina toward Località Velos.
At the junction with the sp13 (46.09251477479179, 12.026221931836714), turn right, cross the pedestrian crossing and continue on località Velos Donce for 180 meters, then keep right onto Via Velos. Unless there are prohibition signs, at the fork keep right and cross the bridge over the stream, then follow the dirt path (Via dell’Acqua) northwest until it emerges onto the paved road (46°05’47.1″N 12°01’01.7″E).

At the intersection, turn right and follow Via Belvedere for about 400 meters, then turn right and head toward the bell tower of San Gregorio Papa.
