The 2024 edition of the Polpet festival took place from Thursday, August 29 to Sunday, September 8 in the namesake hamlet of Ponte nelle Alpi.

The festival menu features hearty specialties such as frico, penne with ricotta and pastin, succulent mixed grills, as well as exquisite dishes that highlight Italian and international food traditions.

The Cornolade waterfalls
How do you reach the Cornolade waterfalls?
Starting from the parking area at the cemetery of Quantin, take the trail that winds through the Cornolade area, called Itinerario Rio Bars – Cornolade – Roncan.
The convenient paved route follows the green, tree-lined slopes of Valle Maggiore, shaded by birches, field maples, beeches, hazelnut trees and many other lush tall plants. We go down the slope keeping left for just over 1.5 km until we reach the start of the trail that leads to the extraordinary waterfall. One of the most photogenic and captivating natural spots in the municipality, the Cornolade waterfalls are a must-see for anyone wondering what to do in Ponte nelle Alpi.
Hike in Ponte nelle Alpi and Soverzene
The starting point of the route is the parking area near the Parish Church of Santa Maria del Rosario in Via Marconi, 53. From this panoramic spot, you can enjoy a striking view of the icy course of the river Sacred to the Fatherland, overlooked to the east by the peaks of Col Nudo and Col Mat, and to the west by the imposing wooded mass of Monte Serva.
From the parking area, we go behind the church, leaving the apse on our left, and continue for just over a hundred metres until we reach the entrance to the Pontalpina cycle-pedestrian path. Instead of crossing the railway bridge over the Piave, we follow the downhill cycle path, heading east.
At the intersection, turn left, pass the concrete plant and the football pitch, then keep right and take the Via Regia cycle path that winds along the Canale Cellina. After 700 metres, at the fork keep right and continue along the bright white dirt path that leads into the dense vegetation of willows, elms, poplars, alders and black locusts.
The trail emerges from the quiet riparian woodland and continues on asphalt along the Soverzene-Soccher stretch, at the foot of Monte Dolada. Follow the comfortable cycle-pedestrian route for about 6 km northbound, while your gaze drifts over the pale expanse of pebbles crossed by the crystal-clear course of the Piave river. Also worth noting is the Achille Gaggia hydroelectric power plant in Soverzene, where the final stop of the route is located, namely the ancient Mulino dei Savi, an 18th-century milling complex used to produce polenta flour.
