The Pentecost fair
The 2024 edition of the Pentecost fair is scheduled from Saturday 18 to Monday 20 May in Piazza Giacomo Matteotti. As every year, the festival combines the solemnity of the liturgical celebration with the cheerful and lively atmosphere of a village fair featuring live music, dance evenings, amusement parks, craft markets and itinerant stalls where you can choose from tempting indulgent dishes to accompany with cold mugs of beer.

Bike ride in Polesella, Guarda Veneta, Crespino and Pontecchio Polesine
The starting point of the itinerary is the car park in Via Achille Grandi (44.962133593723344, 11.748556688432865). At the intersection with Via Condotti, turn left and proceed for 200 metres to the junction, then turn left into Via Roma.
The itinerary winds for almost 11 km along the sinuous course of the Po on the border with Emilia-Romagna passing through Via Roma, Via Alessandro Selmi, Via Giacomo Puccini and Via Passodoppio, until reaching the municipality of Crespino.
Along the way you can admire suggestive river islets dotted with willows, poplars, ash trees, elderberries, elms, alders and thick patches of common reeds. The dense tangle of wild vegetation that grows along the banks of the Po alternates with the regular succession of towering sunny poplars that dot the fertile floodplain area. To your left stretches the boundless countryside of Rovigo dotted with farmhouses surrounded by corn and wheat fields.
Proceed along Via Passodoppio until you catch sight of the white oratory of Sant’Antonio da Padova, descend the embankment and follow Via Sant’Antonio and Via Roma for 900 metres until you reach Piazza Fetonte. Cross the square towards the parish church of Ss. Martino e Severo Vescovi, then turn left into Via Guglielmo Marconi. After 130 metres, turn left again and continue on Via Guglielmo Marconi for 110 metres. Take Via dei Cappuccini and proceed towards the oratory of Villa Quaglio.
The route winds westward along Via Cappuccini and Via Natale Francato for almost 3 km in the silent rural scenery of Polesine dotted with charming rural homes and fascinating ruined farmhouses enveloped by climbing vegetation. At the junction, turn right and follow Via Passodoppio to the intersection with provincial road 33.
Turn left and proceed for 500 metres, then turn right into Via Selva. The itinerary continues north for about 4.5 km crossing the village of Selva, where the neo-Gothic church of San Lorenzo Martire and San Rocco is located. Keep left on Via Roma and continue on Via Chiaviche flanking the north facade of Villa Cappello – Rama, a splendid historic palace harmoniously inserted in the urban centre of Pontecchio Polesine.
At the roundabout, take the third exit onto Via Guglielmo Marconi and proceed south for about 4.5 km until you reach the Po embankment at Guarda Veneta.
Once you reach the staircase leading to the picnic area (44.979220784751845, 11.802829036256519), turn right and retrace Via Alessandro Selmi for about 5 km until you return to Polesella.
Villa Morosini
Overlooking the left bank of the Po at Via Alessandro Selmi, 676, Villa Morosini is a Renaissance noble residence located a short distance from the historic heart of the municipality.
