Bike ride in Canda, Trecenta and Badia Polesine
The starting point of the itinerary is the parking lot in Piazza Dante Alighieri. Leave the facade of the church of San Michele on your right and proceed west, entering the park dotted with cedars, firs, and lindens that overlook the war memorial of Canda.
Cross the pedestrian crossing and take Via Scardovara on your right. After 600 meters, cross the small bridge on your left, then keep right on Via Vallalta to reach the entrance of Parco Vallalta. Bordered by the Tartaro-Canalbianco-Po di Levante, this silent green lung dotted with cedars, black locusts, palms, cypress poplars, hackberries, maples, and many other tall trees is one of the most enchanting naturalistic destinations in the municipality. The park includes a equipped picnic area for grilling.
After visiting the park, resume the route heading west for about 3 km along Via Vallalta and Via Vittorio Veneto, following the grassy banks of the canal.
Once you reach the Fluvial Bridge of Trecenta, turn right onto Via Alessandro Manzoni. Continue north for 1.8 km passing through the charming hamlets of Case Mirandola and Borgo Bassa until you reach Piazza Roma in the center of Pissatola (Trecenta), a pleasant locality where you will find the ancient church of San Girolamo and the Gorgo Malopera, a deep natural cavity framed by a lush mantle of riparian vegetation.
Cross Piazza Roma until you reach the ancient place of worship, then turn right onto Via Rosinella. The route continues north for just over two and a half kilometers, immersing yourself in the peaceful Rovigo countryside landscape marked by sunny vineyards, vast cornfields, and wheat fields lapped by a sinuous artificial watercourse shaded by tree of heavens, willows, elms, acacias, and lush ivy-covered shrubs.
At the intersection (45.07128784492748, 11.476183627583966) turn right and follow Via Muro for 750 meters among elegant farmhouses and splendid poplar groves. Once you reach the hamlet of Crocetta, at the roundabout take the first exit, pass the brick church of San Sebastiano Martire, and proceed southeast along Via Cà Giovanelli to the next roundabout. Take the first exit again and continue south along provincial road 12 for about 4 km until you return to Piazza Dante Alighieri.
