The 2023 edition of Ferragosto Badiese took place from Friday 11 to Monday 21 August.
As every year, the program of this traditional event includes art exhibitions, guided tours to discover the collection of 19th and 20th-century paintings once owned by Eugenio Balzan, and the treasures of sacred art in the church of San Giovanni Battista. Vangadizza Abbey
Located at Via Cigno, 109, the monastic complex dating back to the 10th century is arranged around a splendid 13th-century trapezoidal cloister. The porticoed courtyard is surrounded by a lush garden dotted with centuries-old plants.
Bike Ride in Badia Polesine
The starting point of the itinerary is the parking lot in Piazza Vangadizza. Head north for 600 meters along Via San Rocco, Via Pinzon, and Via San Nicolò, then turn right onto Via Pozza. After about 100 meters, take the small road on your left that leads to the bridge over the Adige.
At the intersection with provincial road 42, cross the pedestrian crossing and continue northwest for 4.2 km along the dirt path that winds along the grassy bank of the Adige. From this perspective, you can take in the long course of the river and the dense riparian forest of white willows, poplars, alders, and common reeds that cloaks its banks.

Chieregato, entering the serene rural landscape of Badia dotted with rustic buildings, elegant farmhouses surrounded by cornfields, and charming country churches. Among these, the Church of the Nativity of Mary stands out, harmoniously set in the center of Villa d’Adige.
At the intersection, turn left and proceed for 4.5 km along Via Giuseppe Verdi, Via Bovazecchino, and Via Fratelli Roselli, crossing the vast rural landscape of Badia among towering plane trees, lush vineyards, sunny orchards, and country cemeteries preceded by white cypress avenues immersed in greenery.
Just before the bridge over the canal, turn right and follow Riviera Giovanni Miani for 750 meters in the shade of majestic black locust trees, then turn left, cross the canal, cross Riviera Luigi Balzan, and take Via Giosuè Carducci. At the intersection between Via degli Estensi and Via Sant’Alberto, turn left to return to Piazza Vangadizza.
