Valbona Castle
Located on Via Castello, 2, Valbona Castle is one of the most representative monuments of the municipality of Lozzo Atestino.
Harmoniously set in the radiant rural landscape west of Monte Lozzo, the 13th-century defensive complex originally belonged to the family of the same name, descended from the Maltraversi lineage.
Accessible from the west via an elegant stone bridge connecting the grassy banks of the Bisatto River, the fortress became property of the Paduan dynasty of Da Carrara in the second half of the 13th century, as attested by the coat of arms, located above the west portal, bearing the symbol of a red cart on a white background.
