A white staircase of six steps leads to a majestic two-story avant-corps, vertically tripartite. In the lower register, four pilasters in false ashlar frame three openings with lowered arches crowned by keystones with a sinuous profile.
In line with the underlying arches, in the upper register there are three rectangular windows adorned with white parapets and crowned by molded triangular pediments. The three windows are flanked by Corinthian pilasters surmounted by large semicircular arches with masks at the keystone.
Crowning the vertical development of the structure is an elegant stone pediment on which the name of the theater is inscribed in high relief. The pediment is flanked by volutes with decorative plant motifs.

Located in Piazza della Libertà, the Torrione is the only surviving element of a larger defensive complex dating back to the 10th century. The mighty wall perimeter that protected the city was rebuilt by the Republic of Venice in the second half of the 16th century.
Following the unification of the Kingdom of Italy, the fortification soon became obsolete and was destroyed starting from the second half of the 19th century.
If you are wondering what to do in Legnago, an ancient city of the Lower Veronese area crossed by the course of the Adige River, the formidable red brick mass of the centuries-old Torrione is one of the most significant monuments of the municipality’s historical heritage.
