Where is Cerea located?
The municipality of Cerea borders to the north with San Pietro di Morubio, to the northeast with Angiari, to the northwest with Bovolone, to the southeast with Bergantino, to the southwest with Melara and Ostiglia, to the east with Angiari and Legnago, to the west with Bovolone, Concamarise, Sanguinetto, Casaleone and Ostiglia.
Villa Dionisi
Located at Via Cà del Lago, 70, Villa Dionisi is one of the most fascinating cultural landmarks in the municipality of Cerea.
Harmoniously set within a radiant centuries-old tree-lined park, the main building of the 18th-century architectural complex features a rusticated base with three portals that provide access to the richly frescoed central hall. Distinguished by a marked verticality, on the piano nobile three balustraded openings stand out, the central one with an arch, the lateral ones with architraves. Scored by pillars adorned with Ionic pilasters, the three openings are crowned by a triangular pediment flanked by volutes.
Completing the vertical development of the structure is a curved pediment surmounted by four statues.
If you are wondering what to do in Cerea, Villa Dionisi is an extraordinary noble residence, whose vast and bright rooms are adorned with an invaluable collection of paintings and sculptures.
Oasi Valle Brusà
The Oasi Valle Brusà covers 171 hectares in the area where a branch of the Adige once flowed and where the Menago river currently meanders. The abundance of water and the fertility of the peaty soil has facilitated the growth of a lush heritage of tree, shrub, and floral biodiversity.
Reachable via Via Porte, the bridge over the Menago river (45.17627346510701, 11.215578187855478) leads to the entrance of the reserve, where several educational panels about the flora and fauna of the Oasis are placed.
If you are wondering what to do in Cerea, the Oasi Valle Brusà is an ideal destination for those who wish to immerse themselves in an unspoiled and timeless atmosphere where they can admire spectacular landscape views of a natural environment in its pristine state, dotted with white and gray willows, thick reed beds, marsh grasses, and covered with water lilies and yellow water lilies emerging on the surface of icy ponds, whose clear waters allow glimpses of the floating and almost hypnotic movements of submerged plants such as water soldier, Vallisneria, and Ceratophyllum with long and thin leaves of an intense green.
Among marsh lilies and purple loosestrife, the former recognizable by their splendid yellow petals, the latter by their bright violet inflorescences, attentive observers can spot, not without difficulty, small mammals such as voles, hedgehogs, and weasels, as well as charming birds such as the purple heron, the kingfisher, and the marsh harrier, to name just three of the approximately two hundred bird species that nest in this delicate earthly paradise.
