Villa Nogarola
Located at Via Castello, 26, the current municipal seat of Castel D’Azzano is a spectacular noble residence of medieval origin set in the historic heart of the municipality.
Harmoniously set in a lush park delimited by a moat framed by poplars, plane trees, willows, and other luxuriant tall trees, the majestic property consists of an imposing manor house connected to two buildings that extend eastward, giving the architectural complex a characteristic horseshoe shape.
Spread over three levels, the central body of Villa Nogarola features on the ground floor a bright loggia, embellished with smooth ashlar, marked by round arches supported by pillars. Aligned with the openings below, on the piano nobile three windows with rounded profiles and keystone masks stand out. The three balustraded windows are punctuated by pilasters and Ionic half-columns.
Completing the vertical development of the structure is a triangular tympanum at the center of which emerges a noble coat of arms flanked by military banners. Above the tympanum stand two sphinxes.
