Bike Ride in Fratta Polesine
The starting point of the itinerary is the cemetery of Fratta Polesine, in Via Giovanni Paolo II, 30/1, where the tomb of Giacomo Matteotti is located (45.03422655658043, 11.651072217963081).
Exit the parking lot and turn left onto Via G. Monti. After 450 meters, keep right onto Via San Pietro and proceed for 150 meters, then take Via Riviera Scolo.
The path winds for 500 meters along the artificial watercourse, offering suggestive views of Villa Oroboni, a charming manor house surrounded by wheat fields, and the long tree-lined avenue leading to Villa David Franchin.
At the intersection, near the ethnographic museum of Fratta Polesine, turn right and continue north along Via Ruga and Via Stazione for 700 meters, proceeding along the edge of the exposed brick wall that delimits the park of the Casa Museo Giacomo Matteotti, dotted with cypress poplars, lindens, firs, and plane trees.
Cross the bridge over the canal and continue along Via Stazione and Via Valdentro for 2.3 km.
Once you reach the Bar Sport di Ferracin Giulia, in Via Valdentro, 38, cross the bridge to your right overlooking the church of San Michele Arcangelo. Turn right and follow Via Roma for 450 meters. At the intersection, keep right, cross the pedestrian crossing, then turn left and resume the route on Via Roma. The itinerary runs east along Via Roma, Via Casaria, and Via Scardona for 3.5 km, crossing the hamlet of Ramedello, the rural settlement of Coderotte, and extending to the edge of the pleasant Parco Delle Noci.
At the small shrine on your left (45.046017952412726, 11.683999267638553), turn right and proceed to the intersection with the provincial road. Turn right and follow Via J. Kennedy for 400 meters, then keep left and follow Via Granze for about 750 meters, entering the serene Polesine countryside landscape covered with wheat fields and vast corn crops that surround characteristic rural farmhouses.
Continue on Via XXV Aprile for just over 2 km among sunny orchards. After passing a charming shrine adorned with palms and oleanders, the path leads to a rustic settlement where there is a white oratory dedicated to Sant’Antonio, embellished with a small bell gable.
Follow the main road until you find, on your left, a garden adorned with a weeping willow, jasmine, figs, palms, walnuts, and many other lush plants. At this point (45.02511742482185, 11.675816678881892) turn right onto Via Ronchi and proceed west to the intersection with Via G. Monti. Turn right and proceed north for 450 meters until you find the cemetery parking lot on your right.
Villa Badoer
Located at Via Giovanni Tasso, 3, Villa Badoer is a masterpiece of Palladian architecture harmoniously set in the Polesine countryside. Raised on a high base, the central body of the 16th-century complex is accessible via an elegant staircase. The latter leads to a majestic pronaos marked by six Ionic columns surmounted by a denticulated triangular pediment, at the center of which stands a noble stone coat of arms.
