The Ancient Palio dei Mussi
The 2023 edition of the ancient Palio dei Mussi took place from Friday 21 to Wednesday 26 July in the hamlet of Terrossa.
The event celebrates the bond between animals, land, and man before the mechanization of agriculture replaced beasts of burden such as oxen and donkeys, once necessary to assist farmers in their work in the fields.
The traditional Palio race is preceded by a folkloristic parade of floats from the districts. A recommended occasion for food lovers, the event features spacious dining areas where you can choose from various mouthwatering specialties, from succulent mixed grills and fried fish to exquisite pasta dishes with ragù and donkey with polenta, to be enjoyed with local wine excellences and cold pints of beer.

Bike Ride in Roncà
The starting point of the itinerary is the church of Santa Maria Annunziata in Piazza G. Marconi, 9. Leave the facade of the place of worship behind you and take Via Giuseppe Garibaldi on your right, passing between Enosteria Da Andrei and the Roncà Town Hall. At the intersection, turn right and follow Via Santa Maria for 4.3 km. The road winds along the slope of the wooded hillside with an elevation gain of about 350 meters. The route offers enchanting panoramic views of the Lessini mountains framing the village below, surrounded by lush vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see.
The route extends along the edge of the lush Lessinia wildlife area, as indicated by some information panels along the way (45.4894085507133, 11.290565093231251).
The top of the fertile hill is dotted with silver olive trees and marked by the regular succession of vine rows shaded by acacias, oaks, maples, and cherry trees. Upon reaching the white neoclassical church of San Pietro Apostolo in Brenton, turn left and follow Via Neri for 1.4 km through sunny grassy expanses and ancient woods. At the intersection, turn left and proceed south for 3.7 km among charming rustic houses surrounded by vineyards. Upon reaching a pretty rural hamlet (45.48280047885794, 11.276791560895402), turn left and continue along Via Campanari to the intersection with Via Cortecavaggioni, then turn left. Follow Via Cortecavaggioni and Via Calvarina for 400 meters, then turn left and follow Via Papa Giovanni XXIII and Via Giuseppe Garibaldi until you return to Piazza G. Marconi.
