The starting point of the itinerary is Piazza Quattro Novembre. Leave behind the solemn war memorial of Mezzane and proceed north, slightly uphill, along the provincial road between gardens dotted with cedars, cypresses, olive trees, maples, and holm oaks, and picturesque historic buildings used as mills, inns, taverns, restaurants, oil mills, and woodworking shops. Continue along the provincial road (Via Villa) for 1.5 km among lush vineyards, dotted in spring with bright yellow buttercups, and sunny wooded hills that draw their sinuous profile on the horizon.
