The 2023 edition of the duck festival was held from Friday 1 to Tuesday 5 September at Villa Parolin Poggiani in Via Piazza Pio Forini, 5.
As every year, the festival evenings are enlivened by spacious marquees where you can taste mouth-watering homemade specialties, from exquisite duck ragù fettuccine to the delicious risotto with tastasal, salted and peppered minced pork. The menu includes platters of cured meats and cheeses, cotechino with beans, and succulent roast duck with potatoes to be enjoyed with local wines and cold mugs of beer.

Villa Parolin Poggiani
Located at Via Piazza Pio Forini, 5, Villa Parolin Poggiani stands in a vast tree-lined garden bordered to the west by a clear canal with willow-clad banks. To the north of the building are the rectory and the ancient Romanesque church of Santa Maria Maggiore.
Spread over three levels, the majestic Renaissance residence is accessed via a massive wooden door topped by a round arch, reachable by an elegant staircase.

Bike ride in Gazzo Veronese and Ostiglia
The starting point of the recommended itinerary is the parking lot of the cemetery of Gazzo Veronese in Via Colombana. Proceed south along Via Paglia for 550 meters to the intersection, then turn right. Continue for about 240 meters skirting a tree-lined park, then turn left. Cross the town center passing by Villa Mirandola, after which proceed along Via Codalunga and keep left on Via Cantarane.
Follow Via Cantarane for 1.1 km, entering the serene rural landscape of Gazzo, punctuated by cornfields and vast poplar woods.
At the intersection, turn right onto Via Ceraole. Continue for 1.5 km on Via Ceraole and Via Dosso del Pol along the winding paved road that goes into the countryside dotted with elegant farmhouses and fascinating abandoned farmsteads consumed by invasive vegetation.
At the intersection, turn right and continue for 1.3 km between lush cornfields, then keep right on the dirt road that runs parallel to the canal. After about 500 meters, cross the canal and, unless there are prohibition signs, turn right.
Skirt the lush Oasi del Busatello until you reach a small bridge, after which turn left and proceed along the path leading to the intersection with Via Chiesone. Turn right, pass the church of San Pietro in Monastero and continue along Via Chiesone, Piazza Piani di S. Pietro in Valle and Via Olmo for 2.3 km.
At the intersection, turn right and proceed for 1.8 km passing by the church of San Prosdocimo and a little further the former mill of Gazzo Veronese. Turn left onto Via Paglia to return to the starting point.
