Falasco Castle
Located in Località Basalovo di Stallavena, the mighty medieval tower leans against the overhanging wall of a rocky height, from whose privileged position you can gaze upon the spectacular panorama of the Valpantena.
Built at the behest of the Turrisendi family, the defensive and watchtower structure most likely dates back to the 13th and 14th centuries.
The history of the fortification is linked to Francesco Falasco, a former landowner who became a henchman of the Cozza family, and who had taken refuge in the ancient ruins of the castle after losing his possessions. Thanks to its strategic and hard-to-reach position, during the 17th century the tower became the operational base of a ruthless band of brigands.
Villa Giusti Bevilacqua
Located at Via Madonnina, 1, Villa Giusti Bevilacqua was built in 1580 at the behest of the Giusti family. The elegant noble residence features on the ground floor, in a central position, three round-arched openings framed by an elegant ashlar work.
Also known as the Red Palace for the color that decorates its exteriors, the villa is embellished with invaluable frescoes, among which a depiction of Moses saved from the waters stands out, adorning the piano nobile.
Villa Arvedi
Located at Via Conti Allegri, in the hamlet of Cuzzano (45.5113273636004, 11.013687687112101), Villa Arvedi is a jewel of Baroque architecture elegantly set on the slopes of the Valpantena hills, cloaked in lush woods, dotted with silvery olive trees, and marked by flourishing vineyards for the production of Valpolicella DOC, Amarone della Valpolicella, and Recioto DOC.
Founded in the first half of the 15th century by the noble Dal Verme family, the sumptuous property was purchased in the 17th century by the Allegri family, who financed the expansion of the grand noble architectural complex and transformed it into a thriving agricultural estate. In 1824, the mansion passed to the Arvedi family. The vast and bright halls of the stately home are graced by splendid frescoes of allegorical, legendary, and warlike nature.
If you are wondering what to do in Grezzana, Villa Arvedi and the splendid Italian garden that frames it are among the most fascinating cultural and naturalistic destinations in the Veneto region.
