Where is Preganziol?
The municipality of Preganziol in the province of Treviso borders to the north with Treviso and Casier, to the south with Mogliano Veneto, to the east with Casier and Casale sul Sile, to the west with Treviso and Zero Branco.
The radicchio road
With an area of about 23 km², the territory of Preganziol is predominantly flat and made fertile by the rivers Zermanson, Serva, Bigonzo and Dosson.
The fertility of the soil and the quality of the water of the river system predispose the territory of the municipality to the cultivation of various crops, in particular vines and the prized red radicchio of Treviso.
A vegetable of the chicory family with a characteristic elongated shape and narrow leaves, the red radicchio of Treviso is part of the gastronomic tradition and culture of the province of Treviso thanks to its unmistakable delicate and pleasantly bitter taste, as well as the ancient origin of its cultivation in the Region, dating back to the 16th century.
The best way to admire the rural landscape of the territory and savor its typical products is to take the radicchio road, a nature trail that includes 41 municipalities distributed among the provinces of Treviso, Padua and Venice.
The food and wine itinerary aims to promote typical specialties of the territory while enhancing the environmental splendor of this vast area of the Po Valley.
All information about the route and its signage (aimed at providing content on the history and culture of the territory), as well as useful tips on the best places and restaurants to savor the typical products of our land are available on the official website of the radicchio road
… and it doesn’t end here…

Villa Albrizzi Franchetti and the centuries-old park
Located in the hamlet of San Trovaso, at Str. Terraglio, 203, 31022 Frescada (TV), the sumptuous manor house develops over three levels culminating in a pediment adorned with acroteria.
The main building features a balustraded trifora on the first and second floors.
Another architectural element of value are the barchesse with an L-shaped plan and bear in the center a refined classical pediment supported by columns and are internally graced by pictorial cycles of a legendary nature.
Studded with plants from different continents, the English garden contrasts the rational schematic nature of the Italian garden with the simulation of the natural environment in its primordial dimension uncorrupted by human intervention, generating an effect of disordered grace such as to evoke overwhelming emotions in those who venture into this unspoiled environment: wonder, joy, serenity, excitement, quiet contemplation.
Church of Saint Urban the Pope
One of the buildings of greatest historical and artistic significance in the municipality is certainly the Church of Saint Urban the Pope, located at Via Roma, 37, 31022 Preganziol (TV).
Of notable artistic and historical relevance are the pictorial works of which we cite The Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes and The Raising of Jesus on the Cross.
Decorating the ceiling of the nave is a depiction of the sacrifice of St. Urban, instead the work of Giovan Battista Canal, known not only for his incredible painting skills but also for his astonishing speed of execution.
