Where is Tambre located?
The municipality of Tambre borders to the north with Chies d’Alpago, to the south with Caneva, to the east with Barcis, Aviano, Budoia and Polcenigo, and to the west with Alpago and Fregona.
The mountain fair
The 2024 edition of the mountain fair took place on Saturday 10 August in Sant’Anna.
As every year, the event features craft markets, art workshops, demonstrations of forestry work, tastings of malga cheeses and many other exquisite local specialties.

Itinerary in Tambre
The starting point of the itinerary is the parking area in Viale Marconi, slightly south of the Parish Church of Saints Ermagora and Fortunato. Head north, leaving the majestic facade of the place of worship on your right, in the center of which opens a large round arch.
After the church, continue for about one hundred meters, then take the staircase on your right that leads to Via Isela. Continue for another one hundred meters uphill along the asphalt road bordered by a stone wall, from which you can enjoy a striking view of the village set between Lake Santa Croce and the wooded slopes of Mount Guslon, Cornor, Mount Cavallo and Mount Colombera.
Keep left on the dirt path marked by an information panel. The signs for trail no. 3, called “on the trail of the deer”, guide the visitor through the dense woodland vegetation covering the slope. After about 1 km, keep right on the path that leads to Via Lamaraz.
Continue southwest and pass through the settlement of Sant’Anna via Via Lamaraz and Via Monte Guslon. At the junction with Via Cansiglio, turn right, then take Via delle Fornaci on your left and continue toward a large square. The route resumes southward, crosses a bright grassy expanse and leads to the white church of Sant’Anna, a lovely place of worship finished with a double-pitched stone roof crowned by a cross.
The Cansiglio forest
The walk continues eastward, venturing into the fairytale, timeless atmosphere of the Cansiglio forest between Val dei Toiton and Val de Pietra. Once out of the silent beech forest, the route winds along CAI Trail 926 to Rifugio Semenza, from where the spectacular landscape of Pian delle Lastre and Conca d’Alpago can be taken in at a glance.
Keep left and follow the dirt route that runs along the edge of the forest. Shortly after the Contaront de Sora fork, the downhill path begins and, passing through Via Federa, leads back to the center of Tambre.
