Where is Sovizzo?
The municipality of Sovizzo borders to the north with Gambugliano, to the northwest with Castelgomberto, to the southeast with Altavilla Vicentina, to the southwest with Montecchio Maggiore, to the east with Gambugliano, Monteviale, Creazzo and Altavilla Vicentina, to the west with Castelgomberto and Montecchio Maggiore.
Anguria on the river
An opportunity to spend the beautiful season in the pleasant rural setting of the Vicenza plain, Anguria on the river takes place annually in the month of July. The 2022 edition was held on June 28 and 30, and July 5 and 7.
Set up in the large spaces of the sports field in Via Monte Superga, the catering area will allow you to enjoy tasty sandwiches filled with ingredients to satisfy every palate, from fresh vegetables and mozzarella to indulgent fillings of fragrant onion, beef, and top-quality frankfurters. The undisputed star will naturally be the watermelon, ideal for cooling off on hot summer days.

The Feast of the Assumption
The initiatives to enjoy the summer to the fullest certainly do not end here! With rare exceptions, the Feast of the Assumption occurs every year in mid-August at the sports field in Via Monte Superga.
According to the liturgical calendar, the Assumption of Mary into heaven occurs on August 15, but the celebration in her honor also takes place in the days leading up to this date.
To the solemnity of the religious ceremonies, the festival combines the cheerful and carefree atmosphere of a bygone fair, with live music, delicious sandwiches filled with top-quality cold cuts, succulent grilled meat, and slices of steaming polenta that you can savor in the large and comfortable tent structures.

SuissSeptember fest
An opportunity for lovers of craft beer and delicious German recipes, SuissSeptember fest took place in 2022 on September 24.
The rich menu includes traditional dishes such as spätzle with speck, frankfurters and sauerkraut, fried potatoes, and the inevitable apple strudel, one of the most representative desserts in Germany.

The Church of Santa Maria Assunta
Located at Via Risorgimento, 2, 36050 Sovizzo (VI), the majestic red brick bulk of the place of worship is distinguished by a salient façade vertically tripartite by four pilasters.
Framed by a false prothyrum supported by Corinthian columns, the massive wooden door divided into quadrangular panels is surmounted by a white architrave decorated with a floral motif at whose ends the letters alpha and omega (A and Ω) are distinguished.
Above the door, flanked by single-lancet windows and concluded by a semicircular pediment, stands an elegant round-arched three-light window punctuated by pairs of small columns.
A further element of ornamental value is the motif of hanging arches that follows the profile of the roof slopes.
Villa Bissari Curti
Located at Via Roma, 64, 36050 Sovizzo (VI), Villa Bissari Curti is harmoniously set in a lush tree-lined garden dotted with cypresses, firs, and centuries-old cedars. Visible through an elaborate gate flanked by two stone sphinxes, the main body of the noble residence rises three floors and features a façade embellished with painted faux architectural elements.
Accessible via a sumptuous staircase leading to the wooden portal of the piano nobile, the aristocratic residence is crowned by precious statues and flanked by two impressive barchesse.
