Where is Zevio?
The municipality of Zevio borders to the north with San Martino Buon Albergo, to the north-east with Caldiero, to the south-east with Palù, to the south-west with Oppeano, to the east with Belfiore and Ronco all’Adige, to the west with San Giovanni Lupatoto.
Villa Sagramoso
Located at Via Ponte Perez, 2, Villa Sagramoso is a splendid 17th-century villa harmoniously set in an elegant garden dotted with centuries-old trees.
Also known as the Castle of Zevio, the majestic noble residence of millenary origin is surrounded by a deep moat framed by linden, cedar, maritime pine, and horse chestnut trees.
The property is accessible via three bridges located to the east, west, and south. Conceived with a defensive function, the imposing manor is heralded by the white bell tower, one of the most representative and evocative structural elements of the architectural complex.

Bike ride in Zevio
The starting point of the route is the Argine Vecchio Park parking area located at Via Argine Vecchio (45.37877761103615, 11.13501214618457). Proceed west along the Adige cycle/pedestrian path for 5.5 km. Along the dirt path you will have the opportunity to admire enchanting landscape views of the Adige River and the lush vegetation of willows, poplars, hackberries, acacias, lindens, and ash trees that grow luxuriantly along its banks.
After crossing a small bridge, you will find on your left a charming exposed brick turret resting on a white stone base. At this point you can go back by retracing the itinerary in reverse. Alternatively, turn left among flourishing cornfields, then turn right onto Via Pontoncello. After 650 meters, take the dirt road on your right that extends along the bank of a canal shaded by a row of Italian cypress poplars. At the intersection with Via Guglielmo Marconi, turn left and cross the canal.
Turn left onto Via Punta. After about 100 meters, turn right. At the intersection, turn left, cross the bridge on Via Ca’ del Maddalinetti and go under the underpass. Proceed on Via Ca’ del Maddalinetti for 1.3 km, then proceed on Via Campagna Vecchia for 1.7 km among thick hedges of black locust and plane trees. At the intersection, in front of the charming church of Santa Croce, turn left onto Via Barbare. At the intersection with Via Toffanelle Nuove, turn left and proceed to the roundabout. Take the first exit and follow Via Ronchesana for 2.6 km. At the roundabout, take the third exit. Travel along Via dall’Oca Bianca and Via Stefano da Zevio for 1.4 km. At the roundabout, take the first exit and follow Corso Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour for 600 meters until you reach Piazza Santa Toscana.
Turn left towards the roundabout, take the second exit and travel along Via Ponte Perez for 400 meters. Once you reach the bridge over the Adige, you can decide to return to the starting point on your left, or undertake the nature trail on Via Argine Vecchio on your right.
The feast of Santa Maria di Zevio
The 2023 edition of the feast of Santa Maria di Zevio took place from Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 September at the church of Zevio in Piazza Santa Toscana, 35.
An ideal occasion for food lovers, the celebration features spacious and comfortable tent structures where you can choose from tempting food and wine specialties that will make your mouth water. The menu of the 2023 edition included exquisite risotto al tastasal, lasagna with duck and mushrooms, pastissa de musso with polenta, as well as succulent chops, ribs, sausages, and grilled bacon served with slices of grilled polenta and cold mugs of beer, ideal for quenching your thirst and relieving the summer heat.
In addition to the solemn procession in honor of Santa Maria, the celebration includes dance evenings, from ballroom to Latin American to disco music, and the fun greasy pole.
