Where is Cervarese Santa Croce?
The municipality of Cervarese Santa Croce borders to the north with Montegalda, to the south with Teolo, to the east with Veggiano, Saccolongo and Teolo, to the west with Montegaldella and Rovolon.
La festa del Bò
The lively popular event takes place every year in September. The 2022 edition of the Festa del Bò took place from Thursday 1 to Tuesday 6 September at the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Via Roma, 27.
As every year, for the traditional event, spacious dining areas are set up where you can enjoy grilled meat specialties, beef rib steaks, risottos, gnocchi, and homemade pasta, from bigoli with tomato sauce to strozzapreti with duck ragù.
The undisputed protagonist of the event is the succulent spit-roasted ox, from which the celebration takes its name. A bovine of almost three hundred kilos, spiced and wrapped in tin foil, is slowly cooked for almost a day over the crackling fire, a spectacle for the eyes and the palate!
If you are wondering what to do in Cervarese Santa Croce and wish to immerse yourself in the jovial and carefree atmosphere of an ancient event with live music, cabaret shows, amusement parks, and gastronomic specialties to pair with local wines and cold mugs of beer, the Festa del Bò might be the right event for you!

Il castello di San Martino della Vaneza
Located at Via S. Martino, 23, the majestic medieval fortification is one of the most representative monuments of the municipality.
The fortress rises in the enchanting rural landscape of Cervarese, marked by lush fields of wheat and corn lapped by the winding course of the Bacchiglione River, whose grassy banks are dotted with lush specimens of poplars, willows, and hornbeams.
Having survived the destruction by Ezzelino III da Romano, a fierce leader who lived between the 12th and 13th centuries, the imposing bulk of the thousand-year-old tower is crowned by an elegant Ghibelline battlement supported by corbels, whose arrangement creates a suggestive play of light and shadow.
The perimeter of the architectural complex is defined to the east and west by two building bodies with a double-pitched roof, to the south by a stone wall in which the entrance opens, ending in a round arch, to the north by a wall rhythmically punctuated by Guelph merlons, into which the towering keep is incorporated.
Renovated by the noble Paduan house of da Carrara in the first half of the 14th century, the defensive military work became, during the Venetian domination, a thriving river port for the transport of timber.

The castle park
One of the most photogenic spots in the area, the unspoiled wooded garden is pervaded by a fairytale atmosphere that offers pleasant views of the river landscape of Cervarese Santa Croce.
A serene oasis of peace where you breathe the air of the Middle Ages, the sunny grassy expanse is the ideal place both for quiet walks immersed in green and for participating in fascinating historical re-enactments such as the Palio dello Sparviero.
Il palio dello sparviero
Organized in the formidable historical setting of the castle of San Martino della Vaneza, the 2023 edition of the folkloric event started on Friday 16 and will end on Friday 23 June. The joyful days of celebration will be enlivened by lavish banquets with tasty meat dishes, rivers of beer, and local wines.
