American sweet potato festival
When and where is the American sweet potato festival held?
The American sweet potato festival takes place in September at Via Primo Maggio, 6, 35022 Anguillara Veneta (PD)
Needless to say, the undisputed star of the event is the delicious tuber originating from the American continent and also widespread in the Mediterranean region. The American sweet potato is distinguished by its floury texture and delicate, sweet taste due to its sugar concentration.
The American sweet potato releases its appetizing and exquisite aroma through various recipes and cooking methods: baked, in foil, grilled, fried, pan-cooked, and steamed.
The presence of antioxidants as well as vitamins E, B6, and D makes the sweet potato a useful food for controlling cholesterol levels and helping to protect heart health.
The rich menu also includes specialties such as gnocchi to be savored with succulent sauces and ragù, as well as typical grilled meat and fish dishes that make your mouth water, such as the excellent baccalà alla vicentina.
To liven up and refresh the last evenings of the beautiful season, live music performances, wine excellence, and quality beer.

Cycling along the Adige and Gorzone rivers
With a length of 410 km, the Adige River rises from the cold, crystalline springs set in the rocks of Val Venosta and flows through Trentino Alto-Adige and Veneto before emptying into the Adriatic Sea at Chioggia.
The placid course of the river marks the southern border of the municipality and offers visitors suggestive panoramic views of the Adige and the riparian vegetation that grows lush along its banks.
Starting from the parking lot on Via Sabbioni (45.137059449390236, 11.889670569916156), head towards the embankment and proceed left towards Ca’ Matte along the provincial road that follows the winding course of the river.
Continue for about 3 km along the embankment dotted with splendid specimens of willows with silvery canopies, walnut trees, poplars, and acacias.
At Borgoforte, take the dirt path on the right (provided there are no clear prohibition signs – 45.143726300284754, 11.93435686218675) that goes into the lush environment of the floodplain forest along the embankment. On your right (45.137641014003464, 11.945268094940783), you can observe the fascinating remains of what was a defensive structure in medieval times, the ruins of which, emerging from the waters of the Adige, are clearly visible during dry periods.
At the end of the dirt path, turn left and head towards the center of Borgoforte via Via Gorgo.
Once you reach Via Ponte, turn right, and upon reaching the Gorzone river, cross the bridge and turn left onto Via Beolo. Continue along Via Beolo for 2.1 km until you reach the bridge on Via Bononi. Turn left, cross the bridge, and turn right. Continue for just over 1 km following the course of the Gorzone, and keeping left, turn onto Via Riolfa.
Continue for 700 meters to the end of the street, then turn right and follow the dirt road until you join Via Canareggio.
Continue on Via Canareggio and then Via Lungo Adige until you reach the starting point.
Church of Sant’Andrea
Located at Piazza Giacomo Matteotti, 23, the parish church has a double-pitched roof topped with three white statues.
The facade of exposed red brick is divided into three vertical sections by four pilasters connected by hanging arches that follow the profile of the cornice, while on the sides stand two slender windows that accentuate the vertical development.
In the center stands the rose window above which a Greek cross stands out. The massive wooden door is framed by two white columns and is surmounted by a lunette bearing the image of Christ.
