A day in the green in the company of the elegance of the “Patrizi Veneti” among period costumes, court dances, and lyrical performances.
Rovolon (Padua), September 26, 2023 – On Sunday, October 1st, in the magnificent setting of Parco Frassanelle, we will go back in time. Thanks to the historical-cultural association “Patrizi Veneti”, specialized in spreading the tradition and historical culture of Venice and the Veneto villas, we will return for a day to the glories of the Serenissima Republic and the Risorgimento.
Activities will begin in the morning, starting at 11 am with a promenade through the park as the patricians present their splendid costumes, the result of careful research and study, along with their history. After an excursus on the noble Papafava dei Carraresi family, one of the few surviving Italian families that can trace its lineage back to the 9th century, there will be court dances including a minuet by Boccherini, Mozart, and Telemann. The first part of the day concludes with a live performance of the piece Cara Venezia by soprano Veronica Rampado.
In the afternoon (starting at 3 pm), which will open with a promenade to the tune of the March of Scipio, the Risorgimento takes center stage: Spanish Waltz and Kaiser Waltz by Strauss, Waltz The Thieving Magpie by Rossini, and The Romance by Lehar. Countess Francesca Papafava will be present to speak about her family’s history, while soprano Veronica Rampado will perform “Quando m’en vo“, a piece from Puccini’s La Bohème. A final costume walk (at 4:30 pm) to the strains of the Blue Danube will mark the end of the events.
Throughout the day, the refreshment point “Le delizie di Nonna Tea” will be open.
