From 21 October to 25 November, one event every weekend to rediscover the magic of autumn colours in the elegant setting of the Amiche Residences.
Vicenza/Verona 5 October 2023 – From 21 October to 25 November the Dimore Amiche del Veneto, an outstanding group of Adsi – Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane that has for years been committed to promoting the protection and enhancement of historic residences as cultural assets of significant historical and artistic interest, present “Il Mese del Foliage, magiche atmosfere d’autunno”.
Six wonderful Venetian residences (Borgo Feriani, Castello di Thiene, Villa Malmarana ai Nani, Villa Angarano, Villa Sagramoso Sacchetti, Villa da Schio) will open to the public to be shown during the fascinating period of chromatic transformation of the leaves of the trees, which turn from green to yellow passing through dozens of shades of red. Each residence will host a special event with the exclusive participation of the homeowners.
But that’s not all, because after last year’s success the photo and video contest is back. To take part, simply share photos, reels and stories of the six villas on social channels using the hashtag #foliage2023: the fastest – and most original – to post the images will be able to enjoy a private and exclusive visit to one of the villas of their choice.

Saturday 21 October: the first event is at Borgo Feriani (Montegalda, VI) where, from 7:30 pm, a culinary event with the colours of Foliage will be presented: “Cena Foliage al Borgo”. Everyone to the table then, among the house’s oil-preserved specialties, cured meats, cheeses and preserves, puff pastry rosette with zucchini and asiago, and also, to choose from, bronze-drawn maccheroncini with cherry tomato sauce, sausage, smoked ricotta, or pumpkin crepes with bacon. For the main courses, guinea fowl baked with cream and cognac and seasonal side dishes. To finish, apple and walnut cake or almond cake.

Saturday 28 October: we continue with the appointment at Castello di Thiene (Thiene, VI), a botanical walk among the autumn colours in the Castle park with expert landscape guide Pamela Nichele and the lady of the house, Francesca di Thiene. During the day it will be possible to visit the halls and evocative stables of the Castle.
Park visiting times: 10:00; 11:30; 14:30; 16:00.

The event is also part of the initiatives promoted by AIAPP Associazione Italiana Architettura del Paesaggio.
Saturday 4 November: it is the turn of Villa Valmarana ai Nani (Vicenza, VI) which presents “La magia delle foglie d’autunno”: a themed guided tour of the rooms frescoed by the Tiepolo family and a guided walk through the historic woodland with Artemisia Marzia Voltolina, holistic channeling operator. At the end of the walk, a glass of Prosecco will be served under the enchanting 19th-century Pagoda.
Single visiting slot: 3:00 pm, duration approx. 1h 30 min.
Admission: €20 per person including guided tour of the Palazzina, Foresteria and woodland with final glass.
Reduced ticket €10 under 12 years old.

Sunday 12 November: Villa Angarano (Bassano del Grappa, VI) offers “L’incanto del Parco ottocentesco di una Villa Palladiana” with tree stories told by arborist Stefano Farronato in the company of the homeowners, the Bianchi Michiel family. A large meadow surrounded by cedars, sequoias, holm oaks, magnolias, lindens, cypresses and maritime pines blends with the massif of Monte Grappa and with the vineyards and olive trees that brush the banks of the Brenta. The visit continues to the ancient Stables and the family Chapel of Santa Maria Maddalena in an experience dedicated to nature and art.

Sunday 19 November: Villa Sagramoso Sacchetti (Verona, VR) invites visitors to an educational walk in its elegant garden, created in the 1970s thanks to the contribution of major landscape architects. Exclusively, the Sagramoso family will open the villa’s interior rooms.

Saturday 25 November: “Il Mese del Foliage” closes with the event at Villa da Schio (Castelgomberto, VI), a walk in the company of an expert landscape guide and the owner in the villa park where, among autumn colours and romantic avenues, visitors can admire the splendid statues created by the Marinali workshop,.
