The Springs and the Palù
The southern territory of the municipality of San Vendemiano is characterized by a lush heritage of fauna and flora biodiversity nourished by clear spring waters and marshy areas of pre-Alpine origin of incredible natural and landscape value.
The spectacular panoramic scenery is characterized by vast grassy expanses, pristine woodland sites, and evocative tree and shrub hedges that extend following the course of placid and clear waterways. The Palù area in the hamlet of Zoppè, situated between the Monticano and Livenza rivers, is crossed by trails and nature itineraries such as the strada dei bunc, along which one can admire the remarkable variety of hygrophilous plant species and various marsh bird species.
Villa Lippomano
Located at Via Longhena, 3, in the radiant rural setting of San Vendemiano, the sumptuous vacation residence constitutes one of the monuments of greatest historical and artistic value in the municipality.
Built by the will of the eponymous Venetian family, the noble rural residence is immediately recognizable for the charm of the Baroque style that characterizes its white façade, as well as for the privileged position on which the building stands, a green hill offering suggestive panoramic views of centuries-old oaks and splendid woods of horse chestnuts, cedars, lindens, and plane trees that tower majestically over the surrounding countryside, crossed by rows of vineyards and dotted with picturesque farmhouses.
The central body of this architectural masterpiece, accessed after passing through the spectacular portico with five barrel arches, develops over two floors and houses a precious complex of frescoes and stuccoes of fine workmanship, while on the sides it is flanked by two elegant barchesse, rustic structures used as storage and to accommodate farmers and laborers of the agricultural estate.
Church of San Vendemiale Vescovo
Located at Viale Europa 131020 San Vendemiano (TV), the place of worship is distinguished by its neoclassical façade punctuated by four elegant pilasters with Corinthian capitals topped by a triangular tympanum.
Inside, one can admire a pictorial and sculptural apparatus of inestimable value and in excellent state of preservation, of which we cannot fail to mention the splendid painting on canvas at whose center stands the figure of the patron saint San Vendemiale flanked by Saints Jerome and Liberale, above which stands the dead Christ supported by three angels.
The spectacular ceiling is embellished with three frescoes, the central of which, characterized by masterful chiaroscuro effects and delicate light nuances, depicts the ascension to heaven of the Madonna supported and accompanied by a group of angels immersed in a radiant ecstatic and celestial atmosphere that reveals the painter’s skillful use of color.
