Events and celebrations
Palio di Vidor
During the second week of September, the Palio di Vidor is definitely not to be missed, which sees
five competitors (Centro, Alnè di Sotto, Alnè di sopra, Bosco, and Colbertaldo) compete in transporting
a ladder from the abbey to the Castle, and up the hill of the same Castle a battering ram in solid
wood, with medieval-themed performances and events as a backdrop to the event.
La Sagra di San Giuseppe
Where and when does the Sagra di San Giuseppe take place?
The traditional Sagra di San Giuseppe takes place in March along the streets of the charming historic center of Vidor. An ideal event to celebrate the beginning of the spring season, the centuries-old festival features about a hundred exhibitors at a market fair to showcase the specialties of local food and craft productions.

Nature trails
Thanks to its privileged position, Vidor offers walks immersed in greenery, between the stony riverbed of the Piave and the green hills of Prosecco, boasting an enviable variety of environments. Among its numerous paths, we can visit the former castle, rebuilt after the First World War on the ruins of the old fortress destroyed in the 16th century, becoming on that occasion a temple to the Great War, a monument to the fallen and an ossuary, or the Abbey of Santa Bona, severely damaged during the war and later restored respecting the Romanesque style of the 12th century, that is, the period of its first construction.
For those wondering what to do in Vidor, a visit to the splendid cloister is certainly recommended, where you can admire rare examples of columns called ‘ofitic’ (also present in the nearby Abbey of Santa Maria di Follina), meaning grouped by a sculptural ornament that creates the illusion they are intertwined. Those lucky enough to admire such a remarkable example of architecture at sunset will be fascinated by the play of light and shadow among the arches and the evocative colonnade.
