Natural parks
Particularly suggestive natural locations and suitable for those who want to do outdoor physical activity are Fattoria di Geronimo, an educational farm located at Via del Bellato, 27/X in Merlengo. The farm teaches young people the values of respect for nature and the importance of living in harmony with the ecosystem and the vast heritage of plant and animal biodiversity that populates it. Located in Via Ruga, the urban park of Ponzano is a radiant green lung taken away from cementification that allows peaceful walks and spending time in contact with nature. The green area has a football field, near which there is the urban garden, and a path for light physical activity.
At the Auditorium La Casa dei Mezzadri, near the municipal library, the municipal park is a pleasant, well-kept patch of land where you can sit on a bench in the shade of numerous trees.
Villa Manolesso Ferro
Immersed in a vast agricultural estate in Merlengo, at Via Talponera 47, Villa Manolesso Ferro is an example of Renaissance Veneto architecture characterized by a sober and elegant appearance at the same time.
The central body is flanked by a barchessa, a typical element of country villas, and has two entrances in total, one in line with the main body, the second giving access to the barchessa.
Structured on two floors, the sumptuous building is distinguished by the large and refined dormer flanked by wide scrolls and culminating with a classic tympanum surmounted by three statues.
Between the cornice and the windows it is also possible to admire a refined series of stone busts with ornamental function.
Villa Minelli
A noble architectural complex from the seventeenth century, Villa Minelli harmoniously fits into the rural dimension that characterizes the territory of Ponzano Veneto.
The majestic historic building, restored to its original splendor thanks to careful restoration work, is immersed in the splendid and wide vineyard where rows of Merlot extend for five thousand square meters, while the Carménère variety is grown in the external area.
Church of San Leonardo
Ancient church of Ponzano Veneto, the origins of the parish of Ponzano have their roots in the second half of the 18th century.
The value of the ecclesiastical complex, however, is not limited to the architectural aspect, but to the invaluable collection of sculptural and pictorial works kept inside, such as the altarpiece depicting the Madonna with Child and Saints Leonard and Roch. The Triumph of the Eucharist is instead the frescoed scene on the ceiling of the church.
The main altar instead hosts the sculptures of Saints Dominic Guzman, Spanish priest founder of the Order of Preachers, and Rose of Lima, nun of the Dominican third order and patron saint of Peru.
