The feast of Saint George and Saint Mark
According to the liturgical calendar, the days dedicated to Saint George and Saint Mark are April 23 and 25 respectively. In the municipality of Due Carrare, the celebration in their honor also takes place on the days before and after these dates, at the Carrara san Giorgio Parish in Via Roma.
To the solemnity of the Eucharistic ceremony and the procession, the festival adds the carefree and jovial atmosphere of a village fair with home-style cooking, artisan workshops, charity lotteries, inflatable games, creative workshops and Lego building exhibitions.
A perfect opportunity for food lovers, the fair offers spacious and comfortable dining areas where you can taste mouth-watering fish specialties, from fried fish to spaghetti allo scoglio, from cuttlefish with polenta to creamed cod crostini and squid ink risotto. Visit Pontemanco
The hamlet of Pontemanco is a cheerful riverside village nestled in the countryside of Due Carrare.
To reach Pontemanco starting from the municipality of Due Carrare, leave the town hall square behind you, turn left and proceed to the intersection in front of the church of San Giorgio Martire and the war memorial.
Turn right onto provincial road 9, then continue along Via Pontemanco until you find on your right the cycle path that will take you directly to the heart of the lovely hamlet.

One of the most fascinating and representative landmarks of the village is the 14th-century mill complex whose ancient wheel is still working.
Bike ride in Pontemanco
Starting from Villa Pasqualino Grimani, proceed east along Via Pontemanco and Via Biancolino along the banks of the canal dotted with acacias, poplars and willows. After about 2 km, take the path on your right at the Biancolino pumping station. Follow the winding route that runs along the course of the Bacchiglione River. Follow Via Ca’ Erizzo to the intersection with Via Roma and Via Ponte di Riva (the ancient stone bridge is on your left).
Cross the pedestrian crossing and follow the white path along the tree-lined riverbanks for just over 3 km, then keep right onto Via Brassalene. At the intersection turn right and continue along Via Gorghizzolo, entering the serene rural landscape of the Carrara area from which you can see, on the horizon, the sinuous profile of the Euganean Hills.
If you want to return to Pontemanco, at the roundabout take the first exit and proceed along Via Roma for 300 meters, turn left onto Via Olivato and continue along Via Ponte di Riva until you return to the ancient mill.
If you want to return to the town hall, at the end of Via Gorghizzolo take the third exit at the roundabout. Follow Via Roma to the next roundabout, then take the first exit and proceed until you find the town hall on your left.
