The Pieve di Santa Maria church
Located on Via Fiume, a short distance from the majestic porticoed buildings housing the municipal offices and the multipurpose room Corte di Zara, the Pieve di Santa Maria is one of the most significant spiritual and cultural landmarks of the municipality.
The building is distinguished by a white double-pitched facade, austere and unadorned, which incorporates the soaring bell tower, leaning against the south side.
The place of worship is accessible through a massive wooden portal preceded by three steps and surmounted by an elegant broken curvilinear pediment adorned with scrolls.
Built on the millenary ruins of a Roman domus, of which careful archaeological excavations have brought to light a precious mosaic fragment, the church is a true treasure trove of art and history, housing splendid altars in polychrome marbles and invaluable altarpieces made between the 16th and 17th centuries depicting the Nativity of Mary, Saint Benedict and Saint Bovo.
The Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto park
The green lung is accessible from Via Monte Ortigara and Via Monte Grappa to the north, and to the south via a small bridge connecting the grassy banks of the canal that borders the park.
Adorned with numerous tree and flower species, the public garden is crossed by two white paths that join in the play area with slides, swings and spring riders.
If you are wondering what to do in Maserà di Padova, the Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto park is a quiet place ideal for those who want to do physical activity outdoors, take their children to the playground, or rest on one of the many benches and read in the shade of a tree.
Across the street, south of the municipal garden, there is a dog walking area shaded by cedars and maritime pines.
A short distance from the park, heading west along Via Roma, you will find several pizzerias, restaurants, cafes and pastry shops.
If you are passionate about sports, just 350 meters from the Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto park you will find the municipal gym and the Maserà football field, at Via delle Olimpiadi, 23. To reach it, leave the small bridge south of the park behind you, keep left until the roundabout and take the first exit onto Viale delle Olimpiadi, then proceed for about 200 meters until you find the football field on your left.
