The Vecia Via della Lana
The route runs along the ridge of the Lessini Mountains through the municipalities of Badia Calavena, Cazzano di Tramigna, Illasi, Monteforte d’Alpone, Roncà, Selva di Progno, Soave and Tregnago. The ancient path was originally used for transhumance and to transport raw wool from the mountain to the valley.
By accessing the site baldolessinia.it, you can download the route of the Vecia Via della Lana and other pleasant nature trails that wind through the fairy-tale scenery of the Alpone, Tramigna and Illasi valleys.
Starting from Piazza Giacomo Matteotti, 34, leave behind the neo-Gothic facade of the church of San Giorgio Martire, turn right and proceed in the shade of a lush linden tree avenue. After about 100 meters, turn left into Via Borgo Castello. Follow the winding asphalt road that follows the sunny slope dotted with olive trees and cherry trees. The nature trail leads to the hairpin bend of the provincial road (be careful). Continue uphill along the provincial road for about 90 meters, then take the white path on your left that leads to the locality of San Felice.
Pass the Sanctuary of the Crucifix of San Felice. At the intersection with Via S. Monte, turn right, then left following the signs to reach Monte Garzon.
