The medieval festival of Affi
The 2024 edition of the medieval festival of Affi is scheduled from Saturday 7 to Monday 9 June in the historic heart of Affi at the foot of Monte Moscal.
On the occasion of the lively event, the historic heart of the ancient town immerses itself in the enchanted atmosphere of a vibrant medieval community animated by the rhythm of drummers and musicians in bright period costumes, accompanied by flag-wavers and jugglers ready to parade among the workshops and shops of blacksmiths and farriers, weavers, carpenters, ceramists, leather workers, apothecaries and goldsmiths.
During the festival, the charming stone village is pervaded by the aromas of fragrant wood-fired loaves, spit-roasted chicken, pork cheek and pork shank with baked potatoes to be enjoyed with glasses of wine and cold mugs of beer.
If you are wondering what to do in Affi, the faithful historical reenactment sets the stage for the much-anticipated palio of the districts, a thrilling recurrence that takes place in the presence of archers and men-at-arms with shining armor.
