for the children of the Sant’Eusebio schools
And there is a new mascot
Bassano del Grappa (VI), 14 October 2025 – The “Passeggiata per mano insieme” is now a well-established and eagerly awaited event, taking place on Sunday 19 October and organised by the Comitato Genitori Scuole Sant’Eusebio, with the patronage of the Comune di Bassano del Grappa.
Open and suitable for everyone, and also included in the circuit of walks registered with FIASP, it was born in 2003 with the aim of raising funds to support school projects, thanks to the efforts of some parents of children attending the Infanzia and Primary schools of Sant’Eusebio in Bassano del Grappa. But above all, it is an opportunity for socialising, as well as for well-being and sport, where families from the area in particular, but not only, meet, get to know one another and share enjoyable experiences.
This year, the “Passeggiata per mano insieme” has also been given a livelier and more playful image with the creation of a character designed by Diego Bao, a rabbit who will serve as the event’s mascot, and whose name the children will be invited to choose through a fun contest.
The Comitato Genitori, founded in 2015 with the aim of promoting non-profit sports and recreational events to support the activities of the district’s nursery and primary schools, starts preparing the event a year in advance, taking care of every aspect of the walk, from refreshments to safety services (ambulances, radio service, toilets, traffic officers at intersections), and also actively involving the other parents of the Sant’Eusebio schools in preparing sandwiches, biscuits and cakes or as volunteers to guide participants along the various routes.
“It is only thanks to everyone’s contribution (parents, Comune di Bassano, sponsors and the many volunteers from the neighbourhood associations) – comments the president of the Comitato Genitori delle Scuola di Sant’Eusebio Rigoni – that in recent years important results have been achieved, turned into opportunities for our children to explore new ways of expressing themselves. Thanks to the proceeds from the events, the children of the nursery and primary schools, for example, have been able to take part free of charge in music, gymnastics and English courses, as well as have the chance to go out and discover their own area”.
For Sunday 19 October, the non-competitive running event will feature 3 routes: one of 6 kilometres, one of 11 kilometres and one of 18 kilometres for the more trained participants. Start is from the sports facilities of Sant’Eusebio (Villaggio Sant’Eusebio no. 43), from 7:30 am to 9:00 am, and the event is expected to finish by 1:00 pm. Awards will begin around 10:30. Registrations will close on the same morning, up to the latest start time.
In case of bad weather, the event will still take place.
The Passeggiata “Per mano insieme” is organised in collaboration with Comitato di Quartiere, A.N.A., Donatori di Sangue, Unità Pastorale Angarano, A.R.I. Montegrappa, U.S. Bassanese.
