When and where does the Cendon Festival take place?
The 2022 edition of the Cendon festival took place on June 24, 25, Friday July 1 and Saturday July 2 at Via Chiesa, 1, 31057 Cendon di Silea TV.
An ideal occasion to celebrate the beginning of the beautiful season in a spirit of carefreeness and good food, the festival will allow you to taste both regional specialties, from grilled fish to exquisite baccalà alla vicentina, and Iberian typical dishes such as tasty Valencian paella, to be accompanied by wine excellence of the region.
Sile River Regional Park
The vast regional park of the Sile river allows you to explore the complex heritage of wildlife, tree and floral biodiversity that makes the ecosystem of the area unique of its kind.
Following the restera, an itinerary that winds along the left bank of the Sile river, it is possible to admire some characteristic and fascinating aspects of the town’s history, such as the former Mandelli Mills, a splendid example of industrial archaeology wrapped in an aura of charm and mystery.
Continuing along the branch of the Sile called Sil Morto, you access a flourishing natural area that leads to a series of artificial ponds now dedicated to sport fishing, created at the site of quarries originally used for gravel extraction.
In the neighboring municipality of Casier, the wooden walkway along the right restera of the Sile allows visitors to admire the remains of 19 drifting boats that now form the famous cemetery of the burci, ancient wrecks surrounded by thick vegetation of marsh reeds.
The burcio is a type of cargo boat characterized by a flat bottom, particularly suitable for river navigation, of which five specimens can be admired along the course of the Sile in Casier.
Among the numerous villas that enrich the municipality of Silea, we mention some splendid private residences and therefore not accessible to the public but certainly worthy of mention in the artistic, historical and architectural panorama
Villa Celestia (via Sant’Elena, 118, 31057 Silea TV), a splendid building dating back to the 16th century, whose structure is distinguished by the suggestive succession of wide round arches that mark the large lateral barchesse partly hidden by the high crowns of black poplars and white hornbeams.
Villa Riva. Located at Via Sant’Elena, 92, the centuries-old villa is not visible from the road as it is accessible via a long avenue flanked by maritime pines. The stately residence is immersed in a lush garden dotted with centuries-old trees, in which there is an ancient stone well.
Villa Fanio Cervellini, located at Via Alzaia di Cendon, 13, 31057 Silea (TV) is a majestic architectural complex of the 18th century whose facade, facing the course of the Sile, is distinguished by the refined dormer with three single-lancet windows culminating in a triangular tympanum.
