4 things to see in Mansuè
1. The Bosco delle Viole
Born from the passion and foresight of founder Gianfranco Marchetti, agronomist, herbalist, and teacher, of Alessandro Marchetti, musician, writer, and beekeeper, and of Elena Marchetti, wellness operator, Il Bosco delle Viole is an educational farm registered in the List of the Veneto Region, where it is possible to carry out botanical and beekeeping workshops and participate in guided tours, suitable for people of all ages, to discover and learn about the precious agroecosystem that characterizes the area.
Please note that Il Bosco delle Viole is a private place and can only be accessed on certain days, which are indicated on the Facebook page (Bosco delle Viole di Mansuè – TV) and Instagram (@bosco_delle_viole). It is also possible to book guided tours for groups of people; refer to the website (www.boscodelleviole.it) for a description of the activities and educational paths.
The second meaning related to the name of the fascinating green area can be traced back to an ancient nineteenth-century rural building, harmoniously inserted into the delicate natural context, where the Marchetti family once lived, known in the village as “i Viola”.
2. Visit the Bosco di Basalghelle

The aerial photographs show the enchanting forest expanse of the Bosco di Basalghelle, a precious and delicate remnant of what was once a larger lowland area of ancient origin that extended for almost one hundred hectares.
One of the most significant natural sites in the municipality of Mansuè besides the Bosco delle Viole, the Bosco di Basalghelle is located at coordinates 45.83008808153906, 12.520182994560445.
Among the tree species that make up the complex mosaic of biodiversity of this fascinating patch of uncontaminated nature, we observe majestic varieties of oaks, ashes, and hornbeams. The lush undergrowth blooms in spring and like a colorful mantle reveals the bright hues of anemones, lilies, and bluebells, to name a few.
The healthy environment of the forest is ideal habitat for various bird species, such as woodpeckers, jays, and buzzards, very rare amphibian species like the Bombina variegata, small but distinguished by a brilliant yellow coloration speckled with black, as well as mammal species like the badger.
This splendid and secluded green corner reminds us how much our ecosystem, extraordinary and at the same time fragile, deserves to be known and contemplated with the utmost respect for its delicate balance.
3. Church of San Mansueto
Located at via Fossabiuba 2, 31040 Mansuè (TV), the parish church of San Mansueto enriches the already vast architectural, artistic, and historical heritage of the small town in the Treviso area.
The majestic temple, originally with a single nave, still preserves a presbytery with an altar, surmounted by a splendid marble tabernacle and adorned with two marble angels.
The side aisles are marked by elegant red marble columns that support round arches.
Corresponding to the apse and presbytery, one can admire a grand fresco depicting the Redeemer with the symbols of the four evangelists.
The arch that separates the choir from the central nave features frescoes portraying the Virgin assumed into heaven, Saint Cecilia, and Saint Pius X.
Of the side altars, the left one is dedicated to the Madonna, recognizable by the splendid white lacquered wooden statue, while the right altar is dedicated to Saint Anthony, whose statue bears the inscription “Pro fratribus nostris absentibus”.
The white façade of the church features, under the majestic rose window, a wonderful colorful mosaic depicting Saint Mansueto the Bishop.
4. Villa Aganoor
The noble building, also known as Villa Virginia, is a sumptuous palace dedicated to Countess Virginia Aganoor, rebuilt after a devastating fire had almost completely consumed the structure.
The elegant gentleman’s residence that can be admired today, developed over three floors, includes service buildings still intact like the ancient barchessa and is distinguished by the suggestive centuries-old park on the banks of the Resego river.
The noble palace was one of the residences of the Aganoor family, as well as the home of the noble Vittoria Aganoor (Padua, May 26, 1855 – Rome, May 8, 1910), a poet and writer who in this house, which she called “her hermitage,” composed many of her lyrics for Leggenda Eterna (1900).
