Where is Chiarano?
The municipality of Chiarano is located in the Province of Treviso with a territory that extends over a surface area of 20.44 square kilometers.
It borders to the north with Gorgo al Monticano, to the northeast with Motta di Livenza, to the northwest with Oderzo, to the southeast with Cessalto, to the southwest with Salgareda, to the east with Motta di Livenza and Cessalto, to the west with Ponte di Piave.
4 things to do in Chiarano: The list
1.Villa Zeno
Villa Zeno is a true jewel of neoclassical architecture harmoniously set in the radiant natural context of a vast green garden dotted with eighteenth-century sculptures and sumptuous fountains that create a spectacular panorama visible from the noble belvedere.
The elegant structure is spread over two floors and the manor house, home of the illustrious Venetian family, rises on a raised floor compared to the lateral barchesse.
On the second floor, an arched window stands out with a fine iron balustrade, above which the classical reference of the triangular tympanum stands out, bearing in the center a statue flanked by two pine cones.
To access the park, one crosses a majestic arch with half-columns supporting the pediment, decorated with triglyphs and metopes and bearing the family crest on the tympanum.

2.Chiesa di San Bartolomeo
Located at Via Baldizza, 1, 31040 Chiarano (TV), the archpriest church of San Bartolomeo is a splendid medieval Christian place of worship.
The monumental façade is recognizable by the stone coat of arms of the Order of Canons Regular, depicting a person crowned with a halo and holding a staff with a bell.
In addition to the spectacular pictorial works visible inside the church, the place of worship houses a precious marble altar with a tabernacle (also in marble), as well as an ivory crucifix adorned on the sides by statues depicting Saint Vincent Ferrer and Saint Sebastian.
Noteworthy is the suggestive chromatic contrast between the whiteness of the marble of the saints and martyrs sculptures and the red marble of the baptistery.
Another element of inestimable value is the authentic organ in good condition made by Gaetano Callido (1727-1813), one of the greatest Italian organ builders ever.
3.Canale Piavon in the municipality of Chiarano
Besides its inestimable architectural and artistic heritage, the territory of Chiarano is characterized by the beauty of its natural landscapes and the remarkable arboreal and faunal biodiversity that distinguishes them.
The Piavon is a southeastern branch of the Piave River, originating from the Piavesella, then the Lia River, later the Navisego, a canal between the hamlets of Colfrancui and Oderzo, whose course crosses the town and, exiting Opitergium, gives rise to the Piavon.
The ancient overflow of the Adige River that occurred more than 1,500 years ago caused the deviation of the Piavon’s course, reducing it to a small tributary of the Piave.

4.Percorso “Fiumi e Vini”
The sinuous course of the Piavon, part of the river axis connecting Oderzo to the Adriatic, is also part of the food and wine itinerary called Percorso “Fiumi e Vini”, characterized by a network of trails immersed in lush river nature to be explored both on foot and by bike, allowing visitors to discover the value of the artistic, cultural, culinary, and wine heritage of the territory of Chiarano.
