Where is Casier located?

The municipality of Casier borders to the northeast with Silea, to the northwest with Treviso, to the southeast with Casale sul Sile, to the southwest with Preganziol, to the east with Silea and Casale sul Sile, to the west with Preganziol.
With an area of about 13.5 km², the territory of Casier is part of the Parco Naturale Regionale del Fiume Sile, whose territory extends from the sources of the Sile, located between Casacorba di Vedelago and Piombino Dese, to the mouth of the river, at the lighthouse of Porto di Piave Vecchia, between Lido Jesolano and Cavallino Treporti.
The municipality of Casier is crossed by suggestive naturalistic itineraries that guide visitors to discover the lush vegetation that lines the winding river course, an important hub of commercial traffic since ancient times.
The Girasile cycle-pedestrian route winds for 125 km from the clear springs of the Sile to Portegrandi in Quarto d’Altino (VE) via flat dirt roads, small bridges, wooden walkways and through the suggestive restere, the paths that flank the river course used in ancient times to tow barges and boats.
After passing through the dense vegetation of marsh reeds, it is possible to admire the wrecks of the boats once used to transport goods along the Sile. The burci were in fact flat-bottomed boats widespread in the lower Po Valley, whose dimensions could reach thirty-five meters in length and of which it is possible to admire several specimens in a true open-air naval museum immersed in the flourishing vegetation of the Parco del Sile.

Towards Piazza San Pio X

Past the burci cemetery, the wooden walkway leads to a tree-lined path that follows the wide bends of the Sile, offering fascinating panoramic views of the former Chiari e Forti plant, a significant example of industrial archaeology pervaded by a characteristic decadent charm, as well as sumptuous centuries-old villas partly hidden by the lush riparian vegetation.
The dirt path leads to Via Giuseppe Verdi and takes you to the square of Casier, from which there is a wide view of the river bends and the port on the Sile.
