Where is Caldogno?
The municipality of Caldogno borders to the north with Villaverla, to the south with Vicenza, to the east with Dueville and Vicenza, to the west with Isola Vicentina, Costabissara and Vicenza.
The Caldogno Festival
The long-awaited event takes place every year in August in the large spaces of the sports facilities in Via Torino. The 2022 edition took place from August 26 to 30.
On the occasion of the event, the pleasant rural village comes alive with fun attractions such as the adrenaline-filled bumper car track, the spinning flying chairs ride, giant inflatable slides, and, for a truly dizzying experience, the famous tagadà ride.
While hungry diners take their seats at tables arranged in long orderly rows in the large tent structure, on the soccer and basketball fields, the kitchens spread the aroma of ribs, chops and sausages sizzling on the grill, crispy sandwiches filled with steaming porchetta flavored with pepper and rosemary, tasty slices of toasted polenta, fried fish, and crispy bruschetta served in various versions, from the classic and exquisite pizzaiola, to the vegetarian version with tasty fresh seasonal vegetables, or topped with cold cuts and accompanied by fried potatoes, just to name a few of the dishes on the rich menu.
For those who cannot resist gargantuan and succulent meat dishes, one of the protagonists of the event will be the slowly spit-roasted piglet.

Villa Caldogno
Located in Via G. Zanella, Villa Caldogno is one of the most significant monuments of the cultural heritage of the Vicenza area. Vertically tripartite, the facade of the Renaissance building has three majestic arches in the center adorned with a rusticated frame above which stands a denticulated triangular tympanum.
Accessible via an elegant staircase, the interior of the sixteenth-century residence is embellished with spectacular centuries-old frescoes depicting dancing, playful and musical scenes as well as mythological-legendary figures harmoniously inserted into an elaborate painted architectural framework that creates suggestive perspective illusions.
Bordered to the east by an airy porticoed barchessa punctuated by a white colonnade, the sumptuous garden is dotted with lush tree varieties such as firs, maritime pines, and magnolias, arranged around a well-kept hexagonal hedge.

The church of San Bartolomeo
Located at Via Chiesa Rettorgole, 31, the place of worship is characterized by a gabled facade, decorated with a quadrangular geometric pattern in shades of red and ochre, delimited by two pillars crowned with pinnacles.
The front is vertically divided into three sections, the central one, slightly protruding, features a massive wooden portal enclosed by twisted columns and surmounted by an archivolt decorated with an image of the Madonna with hands clasped in prayer, her head wrapped in a halo of twelve stars and surrounded by six little angels floating on a celestial background.
Further ornamental elements of value are the refined rose window, the sculpture of Saint Bartholomew holding his own skin like a cloak (the details of the cheekbones and the muscular bands of the legs are striking) which stands out at the top of the front, and a motif of sharp trilobed suspended arches that follows the profile of the eaves.
