The Church of San Giovanni Battista
Located in Piazza Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour, 8, the Church of San Giovanni Battista is distinguished by a majestic double-pitched facade, facing west, vertically tripartite by four pilasters. Resting on high bases, the two pairs of pilasters flank the massive wooden portal surmounted by a curved tympanum supported by two corbels.
Above the wooden door opens a single lancet window surrounded by a molded, curvilinear frame. Completing the vertical development of the white neoclassical facade are the molded architrave, the frieze, and the triangular pediment, in the center of which stands a clock.
Rhythmed by Ionic pilasters, the vast and bright single nave of the church houses spectacular paintings and altars in polychrome marble surmounted by a spectacular barrel vault with lunettes.
