Where is Cornedo Vicentino?
The municipality of Cornedo Vicentino borders to the north Monte di Malo, to the northwest with Valdagno, to the south with Brogliano, to the east with Malo and Castelgomberto, to the west with Valdagno.
The parish festival
The parish festival is held every year at the end of August. The 2022 edition took place from 26 to 29 August in Piazza Aldo Moro.
An ideal opportunity to spend the summer in good company with excellent cuisine, the event’s indulgent menu includes succulent beef and grilled chicken burgers and mouth-watering pulled pork sandwiches, without forgetting the flagship dish of the event: gnocchi with fioreta.
Fioreta is a type of soft ricotta originating from the Recoaro mountain huts, obtained by boiling the cheese whey from which it rises, once the temperature of 60° is reached, a refined dairy product.
To prepare the gnocchi, the ricotta is mixed with flour, and once a homogeneous dough is obtained, the gnocchi are dropped into salted boiling water.
In addition to solemn liturgical functions, the rich program offers fun outdoor activities, from equipped walls for practicing rock climbing and trails immersed in lush uncontaminated vegetation to colorful inflatable slides and DIY workshops for the little ones.
If you are wondering what to do in Cornedo Vicentino and wish to immerse yourself in a carefree and jovial atmosphere among glasses of wine, craft beers, live music and dance evenings to the rhythm of folk orchestras and talented tribute bands that will make you relive the timeless successes of rock bands like Pink Floyd, the parish festival of Cornedo Vicentino might be just right for you!
The feast of Sant’Andrea
The long-awaited event takes place every year in November in the hamlet of Cereda. The 2022 edition took place from 25 to 27 November.
An unmissable appointment for food lovers, the celebration includes both specialties of Veneto cuisine, from exquisite tripe with polenta to sweet homemade fritters, and typical dishes of Hungarian culture such as goulash, a stew made with beef, onions, tomato puree, potatoes and spices like paprika, juniper and rosemary.
For those looking for engaging activities to spend autumn in this charming rural village in the Vicenza area, during the fair you can taste top-quality cuisine, let loose to the rhythm of acclaimed DJs, and walk or cycle along trails that go into the lush woods and parks of the municipality.
The Prestigio hole
A recommended destination for caving enthusiasts and experts, the Prestigio hole is a grand complex of natural cavities located in the hamlet of Spagnago, situated on the wooded slopes of the Faedo-Casaron plateau.
Lit by the strong beams of white light from flashlights, the vast dome of dripping limestone concretions resembling huge sharp teeth of legendary primordial creatures creates impressive plays of light and shadow that transport the visitor to a timeless atmosphere, both spectral and of irresistible charm, seeming to evoke the settings described in Dante’s Inferno.
What makes the landscape heritage of Cornedo so extraordinary is the contrast between the sunny grassy slopes populated by a vibrant complex of plant biodiversity and the giant geological sites that with their dizzying geometries dominate the bowels of the earth in a dimension where silence is broken only by dark winding streams and the roar of majestic underground waterfalls.
The corniola festival
The traditional September celebration honors the precious fruit from which Cornedo Vicentino takes its name, namely the cornelian cherry, a shrub of the Cornaceae family appreciated both for its ornamental value and for the juicy berries it produces, characterized by an intense red hue and a pleasantly tart flavor.
The event promotes the product both through market exhibitions set up in the splendid setting of Pretto Park, where you will find various tasty and genuine products such as syrups, juices, jams, sweets and gourmet sauces to pair with meat dishes, and through themed dinners aimed at promoting the organoleptic properties of the ancient fruit.

Pretto Park
The peaceful natural oasis nestled in the heart of the municipality is a serene green lung dotted with horse chestnuts, cedars, cypresses and oaks, just to name a few of the tree varieties that offer shelter to visitors with their canopies.
Enclosed by a low wall with elaborate wrought-iron gates, the public garden is crossed by white paths and tunnels of blooming wisteria. The park includes a wooden playground, well-trimmed hedges, ancient stone statues personifying the seasons, small bridges connecting the banks of lovely ponds, and a balustraded fountain where lively goldfish swim.
The convent of San Sebastiano
Located at Via S. Sebastiano, 37, the church of San Sebastiano stands on a wooded hill from which you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the historic center of Cornedo.
Marked at the base by Corinthian half-columns, the facade of the place of worship is punctuated by three wide round arches, the central one surmounted by a triangular tympanum crowned by a statue of Mary. The upper level features two niches, framed by pilasters and topped by a tympanum, containing statues of two saints flanking an elegant rose window. The vertical development of the structure ends with a dentiled triangular pediment on which, at the vertices, three precious statues stand out, two of which are winged.
