Discover what to do in Brogliano: Market of typical products and crafts, the parish church of Brogliano, the Pieve of San Martino. Want to know more? First of all…
Where is Brogliano?
The municipality of Brogliano borders to the northeast with Cornedo Vicentino, to the northwest with Valdagno, to the south with Trissino, to the east with Cornedo Vicentino and Castelgomberto, to the west with Altissimo and Nogarole Vicentino.
Market of typical products and crafts
On the occasion of the event, whose last edition took place on Sunday, September 18, 2022, the ancient agricultural machinery that were protagonists of the rural progress of the early 1900s comes back to life, including a 19th-century steam engine and a threshing machine from the 1920s.
Resting on four wheels, the imposing machine used to separate grain from stems and chaff fascinates especially children, impressed to see the hopper swallow sheaves of wheat and make golden grains rain from one side and regurgitate bundles of stalks from another opening with noisy hiccups.
Made obsolete by the most modern technological advances in agriculture, the old threshers have not lost their charm and thousands of people attend events like this to witness the operation of the ingenious invention.
The most evocative moment is announced by the whistles and puffs of the steam engine, similar to a Victorian locomotive, which drives the large pulley, which in turn sets the transmission belt in motion and then the creaking wooden wheels that slowly, then increasingly faster, start the devices that replaced the hard work that for millennia was done manually by our ancestors.
A must for food lovers, the festival provides comfortable and spacious dining areas where you can savor delicious dishes and quench your thirst with mugs of beer and top-quality wines.
There will be musical performances, recreational activities for children with wooden games, exhibitions of perfectly restored vintage tractors, and interesting craft workshops.
If you are wondering what to do in Brogliano, a quiet rural town crossed by the cold course of the Agno, and wish to take a trip back in time to learn about the history of inventions that revolutionized agricultural mechanics, participating in the Market of typical products and crafts might be just right for you!

The parish church of Brogliano
Located at Piazza Roma, 36, the parish church of Brogliano is a refined example of Gothic architecture. The place of worship features a tripartite façade with four pilasters surmounted by white spires.
The wooden portal is framed by a fake prothyrum with a pointed lunette depicting the Madonna and Child on a gold background.
Above the door stands a fine pointed three-mullioned window with trilobed ogival arches opening, in the center, a quadrilobed rose window.
The church of San Martino
Located at Via Borgoloco, 32, the church of San Martino is one of the most significant historical and spiritual landmarks of the municipality of Brogliano. The thousand-year-old stone church features a simple and unadorned façade incorporating a charming bell tower with four single-lancet windows.
Accessible through a massive wooden door above which stands a small oculus, the small place of worship has a single white nave housing works from the Lombard period, such as a stone engraved with the figure of a warrior holding two spears, medieval sacred frescoes, and elaborate Baroque altars in polychrome marbles.
If you are wondering what to do in Brogliano and want to discover an invaluable treasure chest of artworks created over more than a thousand years, the church of San Martino is a must-see destination!
