Located on the bank of the Piave a few steps from the lovely small church of San Rocco, the memorial site celebrates the heroism of the Veneto and Caserta brigades and the 44th artillery who from June 15, 1918 fought to counter the Austro-Hungarian advance during the Battle of the Solstice.
The monument also honors the troops of the X Army and the pontoon companies VI, XI, XVIII, XXXI who on October 27, 1918 crossed the bridges built on the course of the river sacred to the fatherland and, after passing the Monticano, reached the Livenza. At the center of the memorial stands the monument dedicated to the VII English division whose support helped repel the enemy’s offensive.
