Mareno di Piave: Landscape and Nature
The territory of Mareno di Piave, immersed in a corner of the green plain of the Marca Trevigiana, extends along the left bank of the Piave and falls within the hydrographic basin of the Piave and the Monticano, whose waters favor the growth of a vast and lush heritage of arboreal, floral, and faunal biodiversity that develops and spreads following the sinuous and placid course.
The dense and widespread network of streams, clear risorgive and lesser watercourses that branch out in the municipal territory, such as Roggia Torsa, Fosso Vadon, Rio Raseva, Fossa Fazzoletta and Canale Piavesella offer visitors panoramic views of incredible naturalistic and landscape value.
Parish of Saints Peter and Paul
Located at Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III, 9, 31010 Mareno di Piave TV, the archpriest church of Mareno di Piave holds treasures of inestimable artistic and historical value that await only to be discovered and admired.
The very ancient origins of the place of worship are testified by the complex of frescoes and stuccoes that decorate the left wall, executed from the 15th to the 16th century and depicting sacred scenes such as the Last Supper, the Crucifixion, and the Madonna with Jesus Christ and Saint Anne.
Along the central nave, one can admire spectacular frescoes by the master Gian Battista Canal, a Venetian artist known as Canaletto.
Among the four altars placed along the central nave, the Altar of the Souls in black Greek marble stands out, dating back about four hundred years.
Villa Tron Donà delle Rose
The sumptuous rural residence represents a point of reference in the cultural and architectural panorama of the municipality as well as one of the most valuable monuments in the historical heritage of the area.
The central body of the splendid eighteenth-century building includes a splendid hall inside, accessed via a double staircase, while the facade is immediately recognizable for the large pediment that rises in the center of the structure.
The entire building also includes a series of buildings, stables, and barchesse, rural service buildings used as warehouses and intended to house farmers and laborers of the vast estate in which the villa is immersed.
The vacation residence is surrounded by a lush two-hectare garden dotted with majestic centuries-old trees, inside which a chapel holds the remains of Francesco Donà, Doge of Venice from 1545 to 1553.
