Where is Rosà located?
The municipality of Rosà borders to the north-east with Cassola, to the north-west with Bassano del Grappa, to the south with Tezze sul Brenta, to the east with Cassola and Rossano Veneto, to the west with Bassano del Grappa, Cartigliano and Tezze sul Brenta.
Parco Vecchio Mulino
An ideal destination for those seeking a serene location isolated from concrete, pollution and traffic noise, the Parco Vecchio Mulino is a peaceful refuge born from the creativity of Mr. Edorado Signori combined with his passion for nature and the history of peasant culture.
What makes this boundless grassy expanse dotted with lush tree species unique is the presence of an interesting museum that displays ancient handmade tools used centuries ago in field work, as well as agricultural machinery made of wood and metal still functioning and steeped in charm despite the mechanical and industrial evolution having rendered them obsolete.
Surrounded by dense and humid vegetation, the centuries-old mill complex stands by a small lake that recalls the clear water mirrors of 19th-century romantic gardens, designed to reproduce a wild and unspoiled environment dominated by the unpredictable curvilinear shapes of sinuous streams gushing among moss-veiled rocks, gentle sunny slopes, and woodland formations that awaken the wonder of those who, venturing into the winding paths of the mysterious artificial oasis, remain enchanted by an atmosphere of purity with primordial, chaotic but charming features.
Harmoniously set in the pleasant natural context are solemn lion sculptures, a white circular colonnade covered by a thick vegetal dome, graceful little bridges connecting the banks of winding streams, and a well crowned by a thin arch embellished with wrought-iron swirls from which hangs the bucket and the chain wrapped around the pulley of the large spoked wheel.
If you are wondering what to do in Rosà and wish to discover a pleasant fairy-tale scene suspended in time, immersed in the rural landscape of Rosà that recalls the county landscapes described by J. R. R. Tolkien in The Lord of the Rings, a visit to this silent garden will be an unforgettable experience!
The feast of Sant’Antonio Abbate
The celebration takes place in the days immediately before and after January 17, the anniversary of the death of the hermit who lived in Egypt in the 3rd and 4th centuries until the venerable age of 105.
The solemn liturgical ceremonies and spiritual recollection include an exciting concert in the solemn and fascinating architectural setting of the Duomo of Rosà.
The threshing festival
One of the most anticipated and characteristic events in Rosà, the threshing festival takes place every year in the first week of July and involves the local population to celebrate the ancient agricultural tradition. To make the event even more enjoyable, there will be banquets where you can taste food and wine specialties that enhance the biodiversity and quality of local products, as well as live music shows and exhibitions of vintage tractors.
The Duomo of Rosà
The majestic church is characterized by a white façade with projecting sections marked by four Corinthian half-columns, distinguished by elegant acanthus scrolls, on which rests the entablature consisting of the architrave, the frieze and the triangular pediment decorated with a dentil pattern and bearing a circular opening in the center.
Above the central portal, surmounted by a curved tympanum and flanked by two minor entrances with triangular tympanums, the Latin inscription D.O.M. IN HONOREM S. ANTONII ABBATIS SACRUM stands out in black characters.
Also noteworthy are five statues placed at the top of the façade: the top ones depicting Faith, Hope and Charity, and in the lower register, those depicting Sant’Antonio Abate and San Spiridione.
The bell tower with a quadrangular base consists of a red brick shaft concluded by a bell chamber in white stone with wide single-lancet windows framed by pilasters.
Completing the vertical development of the structure is an elaborate spire on which a metal weather vane stands out.
