Where is Laghi located?
The municipality of Laghi borders to the north with Lastebasse, to the south with Posina, to the east with Arsiero and Posina, to the west with Folgaria and Terragnolo.
The feast of San Barnaba
June 11 is the day dedicated to San Barnaba the Apostle, an evangelizer who lived in the 1st century, although the celebration in his honor does not always coincide with this date. In 2022, the festival took place from Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 July in correspondence with the parish church.
A suitable occasion for gourmands keen on fish specialties, the event offers spacious dining areas set up in comfortable tent structures where you can savor the exquisite fry, freshwater fish particularly tasty when fried or used to prepare savory meatballs and fritters.
Ideal ingredient for preparing risottos, gnocchi and sandwiches to make your mouth water, tastasal is a soft mixture of minced pork meat to which salt, pepper and nutmeg or cinnamon are added, whose name derives from the custom of tasting the minced meat to understand the right level of saltiness.
The event reconciles the solemnity of heartfelt liturgical ceremonies with the carefree and cheerful atmosphere of a traditional popular festival featuring briscola tournaments, dance orchestras and five-a-side football matches.

The church of Laghi
Standing in the historic heart of the pleasant rural village, the church of San Barnaba represents one of the most significant cultural and spiritual landmarks of the municipality.
Dating back to the 17th century, the white place of worship is distinguished by an imposing double-pitched façade vertically tripartite by four Ionic pilasters resting on high bases. Above the wooden portal, punctuated by quadrangular panels and surmounted by a triangular pediment supported by corbels, stands a large Greek cross set in an elegant molded frame.
Laterally, the mighty buttresses emerge, whose arrangement creates suggestive plays of light and shadow.
Completing the vertical development of the facade is the trabeation formed by architrave, frieze and the triangular pediment in the center of which opens an oculus.
Internally, the church has a single nave punctuated by Corinthian pilasters that frame altars in polychrome marbles enclosed by niches surmounted by round arches. Hanging from the bright vault of the apse, also of notable value is the canopy decorated with floral festoons crowned by a white dove with outstretched wings set against brilliant golden rays.
In front of the façade stands the square-based bell tower bearing four clocks with Roman numerals. Above the belfry, in which four balustrated single-lancet windows open, rises the sinuous metal spire resting on an octagonal drum.
Walking in Laghi
The ancient village of Germanic origin rises on the green hills of Val di Ferro dotted with elms, walnuts, mountain maples, hornbeams and ash trees, splendid tree varieties that give way, as altitude increases, to dense beech forests and the dark, prickly crowns of majestic firs set against the backdrop of the great mass of the Vicentine Prealps.
Particularly characteristic are the hamlets of millenary origin, many of them abandoned and pervaded by an aura of charm and mystery, perched on sunny grassy terraces bordered by stone walls.
The ancient village is lapped by the icy Molini-Gusella stream, whose clear waters feed the enchanting ponds, populated by swans, in which the church of San Barnaba is reflected, a starting point for numerous excursions.
