The church of Saints Felice and Fortunato
Located on Via S. Fortunato, the church of SS. Felice e Fortunato rises on a panoramic point from which you can enjoy a wide view of the hilly landscape dotted with vineyards, centuries-old trees and silvery olive groves whose growth is favored by the mild climate.
In an excellent state of preservation, the 15th-century place of worship has an octagonal plan punctuated by pilasters and small columns, which are surmounted by elaborate statues set in niches ending with pointed arches. Above the pilasters stand refined Gothic spires, also containing precious sculptures.
Completing the vertical development of the place of worship is the dome crowned by a lantern in which eight single-lancet windows open.
Accessible through a massive wooden door culminating in an ogival lunette with a pictorial decoration, the church is illuminated through circular openings and Gothic ogival mullioned windows adorned with quatrefoils.
Inside, the place of worship is embellished with spectacular frescoes depicting the Madonna and the saints to whom the church is dedicated, and an ancient finely carved altar.
The Romanesque bridge of Isidoro
One of the most fascinating historical landmarks of the municipality, the bridge is located in the locality of Canove di Arzignano (45.751410002666326, 11.548950510890203).
Wrapped in an irresistible aura of mystery, the centuries-old stone and brick structure is immersed in lush woodland vegetation in the silent and romantic setting of the Fara Vicentino countryside.
You are in front of the entrance to the church of SS. Felice e Fortunato. Leave the place of worship on your right and proceed northwest along Via S. Fortunato, then continue north along Via Mezzavilla and Via Guglielmo Marconi.
After passing the parish church on your left, proceed for 300 meters and turn right into Via Zucchi.
Follow Via Zucchi for 750 meters, venturing into the thick tree vegetation of acacias and poplars for 750 meters, then turn left into Via Artusi. Follow the course of the Chiavon river along whose banks grows a dense and thick hedge until you reach the bridge which, sheltered by the shade of the foliage of majestic trees, draws an elegant arch over the lively stream with a bed strewn with moss-veiled rocks
If you are passionate about cycling and want to venture into a serene location where history and nature intertwine harmoniously, the Isidoro bridge is certainly a recommended destination.
