Il parco dell’amicizia
An ideal destination for hiking enthusiasts and for anyone wishing to explore a serene natural location isolated from concrete and urbanization, the Parco dell’Amicizia is a pleasant riverside park distinguished by a flourishing heritage of plant biodiversity that blooms and flourishes along the banks of the cold and changing course of the Brenta.
Born from the icy mirror of water of Caldonazzo in Trentino-Alto Adige, the Brenta crosses the Valsugana, Canale di Brenta and reaches Bassano del Grappa, winding through vast plains whose morphology is characterized by an abundance of gravelly, sandy and stony debris which, besides offering suggestive views of the layer of pebbles smoothed by the meandering course of the river, influence with their permeability the flow of the watercourse, leaving space, in the hot months with scant rainfall, to a boundless expanse of dazzling round and white stones.
A spectacular source of life of lake origin with vibrant ripples shining in the sun, the Brenta nourishes with its flow a complex floral, shrub and tree apparatus that includes majestic varieties of elms, lindens, hazelnuts and mulberries (which in August offer swollen and shiny blackberries, sweet with a slightly acidic aftertaste), towering black poplars, white willows with sinuous and silvery fronds as well as specimens of black elderberry with dense canopies dotted with white and vaporous flowers, just to name some of the flourishing species that populate this tranquil untouched oasis.

La parrocchia dei santi Pietro e Rocco
Located in the historic heart of Tezze sul Brenta, between the picturesque urban center and the primordial landscape of the Brenta wrapped in wild vegetation and crossed by a dense network of dirt paths, the church of Santi Pietro e Rocco features a salient facade punctuated by two pairs of fluted pilasters between which are placed the statues of the saints to whom the church is dedicated. Placed to the right of the portal, the statue of San Rocco is recognizable by the faithful dog sitting at its side.
Above the Ionic capitals, with double volutes and bearing a flower in the center, stand out the architrave, on which stands out the Latin inscription “IN HONOREM D.D PETRI ET ROCHI” and the dentiled pediment with the inscription DOM in the center.
Surmounted by an elegant arched pediment, the wooden door is dominated by a precious bas-relief set in a quadrangular frame and is flanked by two minor entrances ending in triangular pediments.
The church houses invaluable pictorial works, such as the altarpiece depicting the Virgin enthroned with Saints Pietro and Rocco, as well as refined sculptures and centuries-old wooden furnishings.
Also worthy of mention is the Chiesa del Sacro Cuore di Gesù, identifiable by its double-pitched facade crowned by spires and rhythmically divided horizontally by white and red bands. Refined by a motif of blind arches that follows the eaves cornice, the place of worship is internally illuminated by a sophisticated rose window with a ray tracery.
La festa di San Rocco
The celebration takes place in the days immediately before and after August 16, the day of the death of the French pilgrim who lived in the 14th century.
In addition to the solemn liturgical functions and spiritual gathering, the occasion includes events of recreation, fun and socializing featuring culinary specialties that enhance the quality of the products and the wine and food culture of the area.
Live music, dancing, grappa tastings and much more await anyone who asks themselves what to do in Tezze sul Brenta and wishes to immerse themselves in the local culture of this charming municipality in the Vicenza area.
