Bike ride in Cappella Maggiore
Starting from the cemetery parking lot on Via Fiume, we take Via Valeria, a winding lane framed by thick hedges.
After reaching the Church of the Holy Trinity, turn right onto Via Mattarella, proceeding in the shade of holm oaks, acacias, hazelnuts, and field maples.
Upon reaching the Capitello Regina del Rosario, we turn right onto Via Livel and proceed for 1.2 km, then turn right onto Via Col delle Pere. The route, slightly uphill, winds through dense vegetation of robinias, plane trees, tree of heavens, fig trees, and many other tall plants.
The itinerary crosses a section of the hydroelectric plant from which you can see a suggestive panoramic view of the town and the slopes that stand out on the horizon, among which you can see the bell tower of the parish of Mescolino.
After passing the penstock of the hydroelectric plant, we continue for about 140 meters and turn left onto Via delle Fontane. After 400 meters we turn onto Via Montagnere and enter the bright rural scenery of Cappella Maggiore dotted with farmhouses surrounded by lush vineyards.
We continue on Via Montagnere keeping to the left. After crossing the bridge over the Enel canal, we turn right, follow the watercourse for a short stretch, and turn left onto Via Carrettuzza. At the intersection with Via Anzano, we turn left and proceed for 1.7 km.
After passing the restaurant “al Castelletto”, we turn left onto Via Roma. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Via Fiume and proceed until you reach the starting point.
